摘要: An apparatus (10) is provided for positioning an driving a toroidal body (11), such as a sand core or the like, during the building of portions of the body. The apparatus (10) includes a height adjusting mechanism (16) for raising the horizontal mid-circumferential plane (A',A") of the body so that it will intersect the rotational center (A) of a shuttle (15) which rotates in a plane transverse to the mid-circumferential plane of body (11). The apparatus (10) includes a centering and driving mechanism (17) which includes idler roller devices (18,20) and a drive roller device (22) whereby the body is positioned and driven with the rotational center (A) of the shuttle (15) lying not only on the horizontal mid-circumferential plane (A',A") of the body, but also coinciding with the center of a cross section of the body formed by a plane of the shuttle (15). The apparatus (10) has a carrier roller aligning mechanism (21) that aligns the longitudinal axes of a plurality of carrier rollers ( 23,24) to intersect with the rotational axis (B,B') of the body to avoid abrasion of the body. The apparatus has a signal turret mechanism (25) with turrets (26,28) having prepositioned proximity switches (189,215), one of which is actuated so that a flag (220) on the body will signal the starting and stopping of the rotation of the shuttle (15) when the flag (220) passes the actuated proximity switch.

摘要: A production method for a medical instrument includes a plurality of integrated hollow fiber membrane producing a base material forming a cylindrically-shaped body. Each of the hollow fiber membranes sequentially passes through a first point, a second point, a third point, a fourth point, and a fifth point that are set on a core member. In an outward path heading toward the third point from the second point, the hollow fiber membrane reaches the third point from the second point at the shortest distance while being wound in the circumferential direction of the core member. Moreover, in a homeward path heading toward the fifth point from the fourth point, the hollow fiber membrane reaches the fifth point from the fourth point at the shortest distance while being wound in the circumferential direction of the core member in the same direction as in the case of the outward path.

摘要: A hand-carried taping machine for taping an elongated object is disclosed. The machine includes a powered gear set operably coupled to a body and powered by a drive system. An applicator head includes a substantially C-shaped gear in meshing engagement with the powered gear set such that the substantially C-shaped gear rotates about an application axis under control of the drive system, and a tape reel mount for rotatably mounting a reel of tape on the substantially C-shaped gear for rotation about the application axis and application of the tape to the elongated object. A non-powered guide system operably couples to the body for guiding the applicator head along the elongated object with transient engagement with the elongated object such that the elongated object is maintained in a vicinity of the reel of tape.
