A stabilizing system for a deck system has a plurality of pedestals, a plurality of connection locations on a periphery of the pedestals and at least one stabilizing member secured g between the pedestals. Each of the pedestals supports corner portions of adjacent blocks, pavers or panels a spaced distance above an underlying structure extending generally parallel to the blocks, pavers or panels. The plurality of connection locations on a periphery of the pedestals are located both proximate the supported corner portions and proximate the underlying structure. At least one stabilizing member in the form of a stabilizing bar, elongate wires, wire rope, cable or rods is secured to and extends between the connection locations of at least two of the pedestals.

A support structure for elevating a building surface above a fixed surface having stability bracing to provide increased stability to the structure. The support structure includes a plurality of support pedestals that are disposed in spaced-apart relation on a fixed surface. A plurality of braces are attached to adjacent support pedestals to interconnect the support pedestals. Interconnecting the support pedestals in such a manner creates a stable support structure that can be utilized in unstable environments, such as seismically active geographic areas. The support pedestals can be adjustable-height support pedestals.

The disclosed support system allows for quicker installation, easy height adjustments, and a fewer supports than previously known supports.

A deck system and pedestal for use in forming an elevated surface are provided. The pedestal for supports blocks, pavers, tiles, or panels a spaced distance above an underlying surface. The pedestal has a base, a reinforcement wall, a support, and a coupler with a flange. The base is at a lower end of the pedestal and has a plate extending outward from a post. The reinforcement wall extends between the plate and the post and has a first eyelet formed therein. The support is located at an upper end of the pedestal for supporting the blocks, pavers, tiles, or panels thereon. It is adjustably mounted relative to the base for altering an overall height of the pedestal. The coupler, having a flange is adjustably located between the support and the base for further altering the overall height of the pedestal. A plurality of spaced-apart second eyelets extend through the flange.

The present invention is a device for supporting, leveling and attaching (where appropriate), an elevated building surface. The device can be raised or lowered by rotating a base member of the device. The device includes a flange member for the support of heavy loads. The device further includes a fluid pathway to remove fluids, such as water, and heat from the support device. The device can be used in outdoor or indoor environments and is capable of supporting the heavy loads applied by many types of building surfaces, such as heavy structural slabs.

A paver supporting apparatus is provided and includes a pedestal and a modular grid. The pedestal includes a top plate with a plate extender and a plurality of male lock pins positioned around a circumference of the top plate. The modular grid is positioned and secured on the top plate such that the top plate supports the modular grid in an elevated position and connects with one of the plurality of male lock pins. The modular grid includes a lattice extending generally between perimeter edges of the modular grid and defining a plurality of lattice.

Disclosed may be an intermediate surface for supporting a small paver, wherein the surface can also be used to exchange heat with the pavers. In one embodiment, the apparatus may be a tray defined by a frame with a lattice for supporting pavers. The tray preferably features a tubing track throughout the lattice to accommodate heat exchange tubing. In operation the tray may be positioned above a pedestal or directly on a subsurface. In embodiment, the tray may be outfitted with insulation and a metal plate so that heat may be exchanged with pedestals via fluid passing through tubing installed throughout the lattice. In a preferred embodiment, the tray features a slot in its corners for receiving a locking disk or locking slider.
