Abstract:
A window lifter comprises a cable, a window linkage driven by the cable, a fixed device and a cable redirecting device. The cable redirecting device is rotatably mounted on the fixed device and adapted to automatically lock onto the fixed device upon reaching a predetermined angular position. In addition, the cable redirecting device has a cable guiding portion which is not a figure of revolution about the axis of rotation relative to the fixed device. This window lifting mechanism provides a simple structure with few elements. Its assembly is also simple: the cable-redirecting device is rotatably mounted on the fixed device; it is thereafter rotated for tensioning the cable and then locked in a position where the cable is tensioned.
Abstract:
An automatic door operator for swing doors which uses a worm gear transmission to connect the motor to a belt and pulley which in turn is connected to a spur gear and drive gear. The door arm of the swing door is connected to a double-ended shaft which is part of the drive gear. A rack and pinion gear and spring are used to provide the closing force to the door arm. The motor is mounted over the spring and the belt and pulleys are located alongside the motor which results in a compact non-handed design.
Abstract:
The automatic touch actuated door opener includes an elongated flexible tension member having one end connected to a door and the other end connected to a tension member take-up device. The door is biased to its closed position for maintaining tension in the tension member when the door is moved to its closed position. A switch in contact with the tension member senses decreased tension due to external touching pressure against the door and actuates the take-up device to automatically open the door. A time delay switch causes the take-up device to allow the door to return to its closed position after the preselected time interval. An alternate embodiment includes a pair of limit switches which are sequentially engaged and released in response to increased and decreased tension respectively in the tension member.
Abstract:
An actuation system for passenger seating has a first actuating member for actuating a door from an open state to a closed state, and a second actuating assembly for actuating the door from the closed state to the open state. The first actuating member may be a spring configured to allow movement of the door from the closed state to the open state. The second actuating assembly is power-operated. The actuation system allows the door to be opened and closed automatically by the user while still being operable manually.
Abstract:
A belt tensioning system (170) for tensioning a belt (171) of a belt drive system (970) for transferring torque from a drive unit (112) of a door operating system (100) to a sliding door leaf (101) of a sliding door assembly (200), the belt tensioning system comprising a belt wheel (176) connectable to the belt (171) for torque transfer between said belt wheel (176) and an additional belt wheel (175) of the belt drive system (970); a belt wheel guiding arrangement (330), the belt wheel (176) being movably connected to said belt wheel guiding arrangement (330); and a belt tensioning arrangement (470) operatively connecting the belt wheel (176) and the belt wheel guiding arrangement (330) for adjusting the position of the belt wheel (176) relative the belt wheel guiding arrangement (330).
Abstract:
A sensor apparatus for a movable barrier system having a rotatable drum and an elongate member that winds up on and pays out from an external surface of the rotatable drum. The sensor apparatus includes a base portion, a sensing portion, and a controller. The sensing portion senses a first spaced apart proximity of the elongate member relative to the sensing portion and a second spaced apart proximity of the elongate member relative to the sensing portion. The controller detects a change in the proximity of the elongate member relative to the sensing portion without the elongate member contacting the sensing portion.
Abstract:

Abstract:
In one aspect, a method of operating a movable barrier operator includes engaging a flexible driven member with a drive of the movable barrier operator. The method includes moving the flexible driven member in a first direction to move a movable barrier connected to the driven member and monitoring the position of the movable barrier. In response to the movable barrier reaching a given position, the driven member is moved in a second direction without moving the movable barrier to remove slack from the driven member. A movable barrier apparatus includes a movable barrier controller operatively coupled to the movable barrier operator. The movable barrier controller is configured to cause the movable barrier operator to reverse direction of the flexible driven member a distance after stopping movement of the movable barrier without moving the movable barrier.
