摘要: A clip (10) for fastening a panel (50) to a support structure (52) is provided. The clip (10) has a plate (12) and a stem (14) extending from the plate. The stem 14 has a base (22) and a body section (24). The base (22) has a width greater than a width of the body section (24). A pair of tangs (16) extend from a distal end of the stem (14) toward the plate (12). A sealing flange (18) extends from the base (22). The sealing flange (18) is first molded from a material having a first durometer and then the plate (12), stem (14) and tangs (16) are molded from a material having a second durometer greater than the first durometer.

The captive nut assembly includes a screw with an elongated shank that is adapted to be located in an opening of one or more workpieces and terminates at one end in an enlarged head. The shank has a threaded portion adapted to be secured to an other workpiece. The captive nut assembly also includes a captive nut that is rotatably mounted on the threaded portion of the screw and moveable along the shank of the screw with the head of the screw being located within the bore of the captive nut.

摘要: A retainer for securing items to a wall of a vehicle that may be installed by the user without the use of special tools or fasteners. The retainer includes an upper component that is slidably mounted to a lower component through the use of mating rails. The upper component includes an integral ring for securing items thereto, such as cargo nets, and the lower component includes a retainer leg that may be snap-fitted into an opening formed in a vehicle wall. A release member on the lower component engages a rib on the upper component for locking the upper component to the lower component. By moving the release member to a disengaged position, the upper component may be slidably removed from the lower component. To remove the lower component from the opening in the vehicle wall, the lower component includes opposing leg fingers that when pressed cause the retainer leg to disengage from the opening in the vehicle wall.

摘要: A quick-connect fastener for removably fastening a component between a first abutment and a moveable shaft. The first abutment is part of a base member and optionally a second abutment may be attached to a shaft. The shaft extends through the base member and is connected to a hand-operated actuator. The quick-connect fastener further includes a locking mechanism that has two mating parts; one mounted to the shaft, and the other mounted to the base member. As a user moves the hand-operated actuator between a locked position and a release position, the first mating part moves both angularly and in a direction along the longitudinal axis of the shaft, in relation to the second mating part. The movement of the two mating parts in relation to each other causes the spacing between the first and second abutments to vary, thereby allowing a component to be fastened and unfastened between the two abutments.

摘要: The invention includes a fastener with a molded-on compliant seal having a fastener portion including a shaft and an insertion head at a first end for extending through an apertured panel and locking against a rear face thereof. A base for attaching an object thereto is provided at the second end of the shaft. A rigid seal support extends outwardly from the shaft at a location between the first and second ends. The fastener portion including shaft, insertion head, base and seal support are preferably made from a single piece of relatively rigid material. A compliant seal covers at least the portion of the rigid seal support on surface facing the insertion head and extends outwardly from the support. The compliant seal is positioned to engage the front face of the panel providing a water barrier surrounding the aperture. The present invention does not rattle or produce other undesirable sounds during vehicle operation due to the compliant seal. The fastener allows an object to be attached anywhere in the vehicle simply by providing an aperture at a desired location including in floor boards, door panels and trunk, decklids and side panels.

The basic body is rectangular in cross section and exhibits an open interior S. Moreover, all four side surfaces are equipped with at least one of the resilient detents 4, 4'; 5, 5'. At least two of the diagonally opposite detents respectively have a T-shape, and the transverse cross-piece 9 on the T-shape carries the front engagement surface. The vertical cross-piece 10 of the T-shape is arranged between two recesses 11, 12 located in the plane of the side surfaces of the basic body 2. Each detent 4, 4'; 5, 5' is surrounded by perforations 13 extending to the free interior space 8 in the basic body 2.

摘要: A touch fastener component for flush-mounting a first planar surface to a second planar surface and comprising a piece of resiliently flexible material having one portion of touch fastener material attached to a surface thereof adjacent a center portion thereof and means for holding the piece of material in a foreshortened bi-stable state disposed over a hole in one of the surfaces and for allowing the piece of material to move between a first stable position arched over the hole and a second stable position depressed into the hole with the one portion of touch fastener material slightly below the one of the surface whereby it can grip the mating portion of touch fastener material disposed on the other of the surfaces to maintain the first and second planar surfaces flush with one another under a biasing force. In one embodiment, the flexible material and the holding means are of unitary construction, the flexible material and the holding means are circular in shape, and the flexible material comprises a centrally located dome. In another embodiment, the flexible material comprises a strip of material and the holding means comprises a cup-shaped member adapted to fit into the hole and including opposed recesses adjacent a top edge for receiving the ends of the strip.

The elements of one portion of the touch fastener, when engaged with the elements of the other touch fastener, resiliently fasten the structure and the support together by a force provided by the engagement of the elements of the touch fasteners and the resilience of the resilient member.

摘要: Detachable filler strips for a threshing concave are retained by fastener assemblies which, for installation and securing of the filler strip, require access only to the inside of the concave. Each fastener assembly includes a resilient cylindrical body and a threaded fastener for axially compressing the body. In preparation for installation, fastener assemblies are installed in the filler strips and each tightened sufficiently to hold the resilient body nonrotatably (due to friction) against the filler strip. After installation, with the fastener assemblies extending outwards between the concave rods, further manipulation of the fastener from inside the concave expands the body diameter sufficiently to grip the rods and retain the filler strip in the concave.
