    摘要: A torsional vibration damping mechanism (30) is disclosed in a clutch plate assembly (24) for a vehicle driveline. Mechanism (30) includes a set (36) of relative high rate helical compression springs 62, 64 for transmitting torque and alternating torsionals when a transmission input shaft (22) is connected to a load, a set (38) of relatively low rate helical compression springs (66) connected in series with spring set (36) and for attenuating torsionals when the shaft (22) is not connected to a load, and a viscous damper module (48) disposed in parallel with both spring sets (36, 38) and operative to dampen recoil of both spring sets. The viscous damper module is readily fitted to known clutch plate assemblies in lieu of mechanical friction dampers previously employed to dampen recoil of the helical compression springs in such assemblies.

    摘要: A method of making a torsional vibration damping apparatus which is used in the power train between the engine and the transmission of a motor vehicle and wherein two flywheels are rotatable relative to each other against the oppositions of dampers in a fluid-containing annular chamber of the flywheel which is driven by the output shaft of the engine involves rotation of the chambered flywheel at 4000-7000 RPM during or immediately following admission of a viscous fluid medium into the chamber. Such rotation results in complete expulsion of air from the radially outermost portion of the chamber and renders it possible to properly balance the chambered flywheel in a next-following step. The balancing step includes rotating the chambered flywheel at 400-2000 RPM. Such balancing step can be carried out prior or subsequent to coupling of the chambered flywheel with the other flywheel.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a damper disc comprising a spline hub; a radial flange formed at the hub; a case connected to facings; circumferentially spaced plural compressible coil springs connecting the case and the flange together; sealed spring chambers formed around the springs by the case or a cover; sealed narrow spaces connecting the spring chambers together; and spring seats disposed at both ends of the springs; said chambers and spaces being filled with oil, so that the oil applies a resistance force to the moving spring seats. At least one side surfaces of a portion of the flange radially inside the springs may be provided with radially spaced annular protrusions, and the cases may be provided with annular protrusions engaging with the protrusions on the flange with narrow spaces therebetween.

    摘要: Fluid damper for damping aiming movements, for instance when tracking a target. The damper comprises a substantially disc-shaped cylindrical housing (9) in which a drum-wheel (11) is supported for rotation so that an inner gap spacing (24) is provided between the drum-wheel and a slipping ring (14) integrated in the outer cylindrical wall (13) of the damper housing. Said gap spacing (24) is filled with a high-viscosity damping fluid so that a damping torque is obtained which is linearly increasing to the angular velocity for velocities up to a certain level but which are limited for velocities exceeding said level due to the fact that the slipping ring (14) starts rotating with respect to the other parts of the damper housing. The slipping ring (14) is made of a material which is temperature stable and which can be made with a high accuracy with respect to its dimensions for instance carbon-fibre reinforced epoxy resin.

    摘要: A cylindrical viscous damper drive assembly for driving the matrix of a rotary regenerator heat exchange apparatus, the drive assembly including an annular ring-like driven sprocket loosely encircling the annular hub at one end of a drive shaft coupled to the matrix, the sprocket being drivingly coupled to the hub by a pair of axially spaced apart split ring torsion springs, each torsion spring being pinned at one end to an end of the hub and having a radially outward extending lip at its other end that projects into a socket in the sprocket to effect the driving connection between the sprocket and hub, a pair of O-rings being positioned in axially spaced apart relation to each other to effect a sealing engagement between the outer periphery of the hub and the inner periphery of the socket whereby to define therewith a sealed annular chamber which is filled with a viscous fluid that will provide, when relative rotational movement occurs between the sprocket and hub, a dampening force to reduce torque oscillations between the hub and the sprocket and, axially spaced apart shoulder means on the sprocket extending radially inward to be in interference relation with respect to the hub and the split ring torsion springs attached thereto to limit axial movement of the sprocket relative to the hub.
