The input plates are fixed to the ring element and the flexible plate such that center and inner radial portions of the flexible plate are axially spaced from the input plates to permit axial flexing. The two-mass flywheel comprises a torsional vibration damper with, distributed over the periphery, a plurality of coil springs (31, 31') which are braced on one another via sliding shoes (43). The sliding shoes (43) guide the springs (31) in a passage (29). End shoes (41) bearing on the end springs (31') and the sliding shoes (43) have extension pieces which prevent the springs (31, 31') bearing on the outer contours of the passage (23) at relatively high rotary speeds. The passage contains viscous lubrication so that in conjunction with slip-promoting coating on the end shoes (41) and sliding shoes (43) a very low basic friction is achieved.

In an elastic clutch of disk design, particularly a split flywheel for an internal combustion engine, a coupling including an oblong spring is arranged between two coupling halves that are mutually rotatable. Essentially stretched in relaxed condition, the spring is subdivided in two or more partial sections by wedge-shaped spring cups, the longitudinal axes of which partial sections have relative to one another a buckled arrangement. Obtained in this way is a spring favorable for specific operating conditions, with a low spring stiffness, but with the spring being composed of essentially straight-line partial sections. Provided thereby is a spring that can be manufactured at low cost, which, in operation, is favorably stressed and not subjected to any wear.
