In printing data of a plurality of pages on a continuous sheet, it is determined whether the data is to be printed on a single side of the continuous sheet or on both sides thereof. A first sequence of pages arranged on a first side of the continuous sheet occurring when it is determined that the data is to be printed on the single side and a second sequence of pages arranged on the first side of the continuous sheet occurring when it is determined that the data is to be printed on the both sides such that the first and second sequences are opposite to each other. Each of the first and second sequences indicates whether the pages are arranged in descending order or in ascending order.
Abstract:
A system and method for printing an image on a medium whose dimensions are determined based on the size of the image are disclosed herein. A system includes a processor and a printing software system including an—Active Printing System (“APS”) configured to execute on the processor. The APS receives from an application program invoking the APS a size of an image to be printed and returns to the application program a set of dimensions within which the image is to be printed on a selected print media. The set of dimensions is determined based, at least in part, on the size of the image.

A display device includes: a display section for displaying, in an editing screen, a preview display region showing print data on a printing medium image; an operating section for specifying an arbitrary position in the preview display region; and a display control section for performing display control of the display section in accordance with operation performed by the operating section, wherein when image data in the print data is displayed in the preview display region and a display region of the image data in the preview display region is specified by the operating section, the display control section performs display control of the display section to display an image selection screen for selecting the type of the image data.

A method and a system for double-sided printing of a series of sheets is provided. First printing data for being printed onto a first surface of the series of sheets are provided. The first printing data comprise a plurality of first subsets, each first subset for being printed onto one sheet. Second printing data for being printed onto a second surface of the series of sheets are provided. The second printing data comprise a plurality of second subsets. Each second subset is associated with a respective first subset. A first print is printed in dependence upon the first printing data onto the first surface of the series of sheets. A second print is printed in dependence upon the second printing data onto the second surface of the series of sheets. The first print is scanned and first print data in dependence thereupon are provided. The second print is scanned and second print data in dependence thereupon are provided. For each sheet the first print data and the second print data are processed to determine if the second print data are associated with the respective first print data and data indicative thereof are stored in a database.

A printing control device includes units that: distribute received image data page by page, perform image processing for converting the image data distributed by page into print data, and control output in accordance with a plurality of image output sections, and control the output processing of each of the plurality of the image output sections based on the print data generated by the image processing, when aggregate printing where images of a plurality of pages are merged into one image is executed. The image data is distributed so that the image data is subjected to the image processing by a single image processing unit. The plurality of the output control units generate print data in a plurality of pages by combining the plurality of page print data transferred from the image processing units, and transmit the generated print data to the image output sections corresponding to the output control units.

A method and a computer data signal including instructions for processing printed unit orders for printing on printers adapted for printing N pages across a print web. The orders are grouped based on page type (e.g., size, thickness, color) and binding type into print batches. These print batches are sorted, processed and then sent to the printer. Printed units may be organized with N single printed units printed in parallel across the web, a single printed unit sorted into N sections printed in parallel across all of the webs, or in super batches including multiple printed units, with N super batches printed in parallel across the web.

A printer driver has an image coupling engine that prepares a coupled image by adding a message image to an original image. The coupled image may be printed immediately after the original image is printed, or may be stored in a predetermined file and printed as needed. The original image is printed as an original and the coupled image is printed as a copy. The original and the copy can be easily distinguished because the message image is added to the copy.

An image forming apparatus according to the present disclosure includes: a hardware processor configured to control an image former on a basis of a job pertaining to a printing execution command. The hardware processor is configured to divide the job pertaining to the printing execution command into a plurality of short jobs, and configured to stop conveyance of the roll sheet and forcibly eject degraded toner from a developing device of the image former at a pause timing between short jobs temporally adjacent to each other among the plurality of short jobs; and the hardware processor sets a job content of each of the plurality of short jobs such that an image of a printing target is inverted upside down for each job switching of the plurality of short jobs.
