    摘要: Mounting means for instruments, switches or the like in road vehicles. The mounting means includes a mounting frame which can be attached to a panel of a road vehicle. A part associated with the instrument, switch or the like is engaged in an aperture in the mounting frame, and the mounting frame and said part include co-acting parts for pivotally interconnecting said part and the frame. In addition, said part and said frame include co-acting releasable catch means positioned in use between the axis about which the part can pivot relative to the frame, and the passenger compartment of the vehicle said co-acting catch means serving to hold the part against pivotal movement relative to the frame until the part has sufficient force applied thereto to release said catch means. Sufficient force is applied to said part for example, in the event of an occupant of the vehicle striking the instrument, switch or the like when the vehicle is involved in a collision, whereupon said catch means is freed, and said part is free to pivot relative to the frame in a direction away from the passenger compartment of the vehicle, thereby minimizing the risk of injury to said occupant of the vehicle.

    摘要: A switch body portion attached to a center console includes a dial switch. The switch body portion is held on the side of the enter console for attachment through engaging of front engagement portions and a rear engagement portion. When an external force having a specified magnitude or greater acts on the dial switch from the rear, the engaging of the front engagement portions is released, so that the switch body portion falls off downward, rotating around the rear engagement portion. Accordingly, an impact which may occur when some object hits against the dial switch projecting upward from an upper face of the center console from the rear can be properly absorbed.

    摘要: An elevated light apparatus for an airport runway light system comprises a mast mounted to a base plate, which is attached to a base-cup. The mast can be designed with a hollow configuration to allow internal electrical connection between a light source in a light assembly and an isolation transformer in the base-cup. The mast can include a frangible break joint that cleanly separates the mast from the base plate. A safety power cut-off switch can be fixed into the base plate on the base-cup. The power cut-off switch can be positioned in the frangible break joint so that a switch button can be held closed by a breakaway portion of the frangible break joint. In the event of mast breakage, the switch button can be released to open electrical circuits for quick disconnection of the electrical connection.

    摘要: A rotary switch adapted to be integrated into a push-to-start electrical control for a clothes dryer or the like employs a rotatable and axially translatable operator having an outwardly extending arm supporting a downward finger which travels across a pivotally mounted and downwardly arcuate lever to open and close contacts mounted on one end of the lever with rotation of the operator. Stops on rotation ensure that the finger is positioned on the lever so as to provide positive biasing of the operator to its end positions. The armature of a relay is actuated by a second arm from the operator contacting the armature within a triangle formed by the electromagnet coil and pivot supports preventing de-stabilization of the armature by the operator. Assembly of the relay to a base of the switch is provided by integrally molded hooks receiving tabs which cover holes necessary for the hook's manufacture. The operator is supported in a socket having a thin bottom wall that breaks free upon axial impact against the operator such as otherwise would be expected to damage the integrity of the switch housing.
