Abstract:
A user setup information management system including an information processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus connected, wherein user setup information is managed by automatically deleting user setup information when the user setup information no longer is needed.
Abstract:
A document generation apparatus comprises: a first acquisition unit adapted to acquire, based on identification information appended to a first document, layout data and data acquisition information required to acquire data to be laid out in accordance with the layout data; a second acquisition unit adapted to acquire data based on the data acquisition information acquired by the first acquisition unit; and a generation unit adapted to generate a second document on which the data acquired by the second acquisition unit are laid out in accordance with the layout data acquired by the first acquisition unit.
Abstract:
An image forming system includes plural image forming devices, a determining unit determining an image forming device in which image data corresponding to user information is stored among the plural image forming devices, a first storage unit storing the user information and device information in a correlated manner, a transmitting device in which the user information is preset, a transmitting unit transmitting image data corresponding to the preset user information to the determined image forming device with respect to the user information, a second storage unit storing the transmitted image data, a receiving unit receiving an input of the user information, a first acquiring unit acquiring image data from an image forming device correlated with the input user information, and an image forming unit forming an image acquired by the first acquiring unit.
Abstract:
An image processing program product enables an image processing apparatus to perform operations including the steps of: storing a plurality of image information to be transmitted by a facsimile apparatus; sequentially outputting the stored image information; reading a mode list from a mode list recording unit on which a list of modes for images to be transmitted has been described; converting an image in accordance with the mode indicated by the mode list; and transmitting the converted image information to the facsimile apparatus. The converting includes a transmission data forming step for adding a transmission destination described in the mode list recording unit to the outputted image information and for forming transmission data based upon the mode of the image described in the mode list recording unit.
Abstract:
A system and method for document image acquisition and retrieval find application in litigation for responding to discovery requests. The method includes receiving automatically acquired electronic image logs comprising image data and associated records for documents processed by a plurality of image output devices within an organization. When a request for document production is received, the image logs (and/or information extracted therefrom) are automatically filtered through at least one classifier trained to return documents responsive to the document request, and documents corresponding to the filtered out image logs are output. One of the filters may be configured for filtering out documents that include attorney-client exchanges.
Abstract:
A method for providing interactivity for printed content is disclosed. An image of a writing surface containing the printed content is captured by an optical imaging pen device. The image includes a pattern printed on the writing surface. A plurality of available options associated with the printed content coincident with the pattern in the image is then determined and a selection from a user of one of the plurality of available options is received. An application is executed, with the execution using the selected option.
Abstract:
A temporary object is registered in a document managing system in advance on the basis information about an object that a user wants to use. Then, when an object is registered by another user, it is determined whether the registered object is a similar object corresponding to the temporary object. If the registered object is a similar object, the user is notified of that fact, and the temporary object in target document data is updated with the similar object.
Abstract:
An address list management apparatus stores, for each user of an MFP (Multi Function Peripheral), a different address list that lists address information pieces for transmission of image data by the MFP. Upon being instructed by a logged-in user to transmit image data, the MFP transmits, to the address list management apparatus, a request for the address list that specifies the user. Upon receiving the request, the address list management apparatus transmits, to the MFP, a sending list pertaining to the user. The sending list is created by deleting secret information from address information pieces in the address list, and modifying such address information pieces so that image data is transmitted to the address list management apparatus. The address list management apparatus refers to the address list, and transfers the image data to the specified address.
Abstract:
A document transmission apparatus reduces troublesome labor of an operator when transmitting document data, inputted from a scanner or the like, by various transmission methods such as electronic mail, facsimile, remote printing and file transfer. An address book containing a receiver and a plurality of transmission methods for transmitting document data to the receiver is generated. Upon transmission instruction, an appropriate transmission method is selected by the receiver, then document data is converted into data of an appropriate data format, and the converted data is transmitted. Further, a notice of transmission indicating that the document data has been transmitted is transmitted to the receiver of the document data by a method different from the transmission method of the document data. Thus, the document data can be reliably delivered to the receiver.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus determines whether to execute an image processing function indicated by an execution instruction based on a state of a web browser when the received execution instruction indicates a local use, and executes the image processing function indicated by the execution instruction irrespective of the state of the web browser when the received execution instruction indicates a remote use.
