A system and method for customized multifunction peripherals includes a controller having a processor and a memory that stores identified electronic customization groups each including electronic files, such as forms, applications, screen backgrounds, company logos, screen positioning information, and labels corresponding to a unique business type. Further stored in the memory are device customization data sets corresponding to document processing operations for the multifunction peripheral. The processor generates indicia on the display identifying each customization group by business type and receives a user selection of a selected identified customization group selected from the indicia. The processor generates, on the display, a customizations menu listing available customizations associated with a user's identity from the selected identified customization group. The processor generates, on the display, a document processing options menu including document processing options corresponding to a portion of the device customization data sets associated with the selected identified customization group.

An image forming apparatus including an operation panel has, as a configuration of the operation panel, a display portion including a function to display environmental label information of the image forming apparatus. The environmental label information includes information on a type of greenhouse effect gases (CO2) and a total emission amount of the greenhouse effect gases in a life cycle of the image forming apparatus. On the display portion, a selective display portion for displaying an environmental label as list display or thumbnail display, as well as selectively displaying detailed information of the environmental label according to the environmental label.

The image processing system identifies a subject person corresponding to accompanying information based on consistency between the accompanying information and subject information and carries out image composition associating the accompanying information with a position of the subject person in a corresponding photographed image. The ordering system includes a first information apparatus having an image displaying unit and a second information apparatus capable of transmitting order data at optional timing desired by a customer to the first information apparatus with respect to an image displayed on the image displaying unit. The first information apparatus adds predetermined data relating to the displayed image corresponding to the optional timing to the order data to prepare goods order data and transmits the goods order data to a third information apparatus in a predetermined destination of transmission.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to protecting printed items intended for public exchange having important informational indicia provided therein. The print items are protected from tampering by providing an informational indicia image as a glossmark. By selectively applying halftones with anisotropic structure characteristics which are significantly different in orientation while remaining identical in density to render information indicia, a glossmark image is produced of the information indicia. Such an information indicia glossmark image when provided in print item image helps protect that print item image from tampering.

There is provided an information processing apparatus, which enables cover sheets and original data to be previewed in the case where facsimile transmission data comprised of original data and cover sheets attached thereto is previewed before transmission thereof to a plurality of destinations in a manner not giving a sense of incompatibility to the conventional display method and operating method which are applied to preview of data in producing multiple prints. In a personal computer as the information processing apparatus, a spooler temporarily stores facsimile transmission data in an intermediate code format, and a despooler generates facsimile transmission data changed from the data stored in the intermediate code format. A printer driver attaches cover sheets to jobs and acquires drawing data of the cover sheets for the respective jobs, and a spool file manager controls preview display according to setting information acquired from the data stored in the intermediate code format and a preview method selected on a CRT.

A document handling system comprises physical presentation means for receiving, presenting, and removing a document with respect to the system. Furthermore, it is provided with scanning memos for the document and printing means for printing on an unprinted sheet a document that contains a form. The form contains a plurality of physically sparse format calibrating items at a perimeter of the form, directly machine-readable form identifier clam in a prescribed identifier field, and form content dam including user completable indicia boxes proper to the form so identified. The form can be used for generating a facsimile sheet inclusive of standard facsimile header, for generating a standard document for general use, or for allowing a user to input amending dam for inclusion into a later to be printed user specifiable document.

A picture image processing system which produces output picture images by executing picture image processing operations on input picture images with an input means furnishing instructions on machine operations, input picture information from an original document, and processed picture information for the input picture information, a recognizing means for the information mentioned above, a composite picture image generating means producing composite picture images by integration of the processed picture information into the input picture information recognized as mentioned above, and an output means yielding the output of such composite picture images on paper. The picture image processing system of the present invention is capable of performing a variety of picture image editing and composing functions and a variety of functions for producing an output of composite picture images using different types of picture image output equipment and sending the output to multiple destinations for document distribution.

A system and method for customizing a multifunction peripheral user interface includes a multifunction peripheral with a document processing controller including a processor and memory. The memory stores identified electronic customization groups, each comprised of electronic files. The memory also stores device customization data sets, each data set corresponding to document processing in the multifunction peripheral. A print engine and a scan engine are operational by instructions issued from the controller. The processor generates indicia on a display identifying each of the customization groups and receives a user selection of one or more customization group. A customizations menu listing available customizations from the selections is displayed along with a document processing options menu including corresponding device customization data sets. Selectable user interface packages, where at least one of the interface packages includes a document processing options menu, are stored in the memory.

In an exemplary method, a request is received to save an overlay document that comprises content for an overlay. Graphics commands for the overlay document are also received. The graphics commands are stored in an overlay file. The format of the overlay file is both application independent and device independent. A request is received to print a base document. In response to the request, the graphics commands in the overlay file are rendered, thereby creating printing commands for the overlay document. The printing commands for the overlay document are merged with the base document's printing commands, thereby creating a printing command stream. The printing command stream is sent to a printing device.
