    摘要: A computer-based electronic checklist system automatically generates a single electronic checklist upon the detection of two or more control system faults. The checklist contains a plurality of notes to be read by, and action items to be performed by, the operator. The system combines a set of predefined action items for each fault and executes a set of conditional rules that modify the action items to reflect the current state of the control system. The system then executes a set of priority rules to determine the correct order in which the action items of the checklist are to be performed. Once the correct order of the action items is determined, the system executes a set of conflict rules to remove any conflicting or redundant action items in order to provide the operator with a single electronic checklist that is customized to the control system's current operating condition.

    摘要: A user interface (UI) may be used in specifying spatial relationships between graphical elements in a graphics environment with drawing or graphical element manipulating functions. The UI interacts with the operating system through an application shell. A document engine, a graphics engine, and a constraint engine are coupled between the UI and operating system. A user may create a distribution frame with an area on a page of a document and a set of elements may be specified to be automatically linked by the distribution frame. Graphical elements positioned within the distribution frame are governed by alignment and distribution criteria. The user may select alignment and distribution criteria to determine the spatial relationships between the elements in the set and the distribution frame. One or more dimensions of the graphical elements in the distribution frame are a function of the area encompassed by the distribution frame where a user's edits to one may affect the other. Spatial relationships between graphical elements are established using unidirectional and bidirectional links between pairs of graphical elements. With a unidirectional link, a master/slave relationship is established where attempts to edit the slave graphical element in a way that affects the constraint are inhibited.

    摘要: A computer graphics system for modeling chemical molecules includes simultaneous two-dimensional and three-dimensional display of models of molecules from a single data set, and allows a user to edit in either two dimensions or three dimensions. A two-dimensional model may be stylized while a three-dimensional model of the same molecule remains chemically (geometrically) correct. The system has editing tools for use in both two dimensions and three dimensions, and changes made in one mode are immediately reflected in the other, and the editing tools include manipulation components for the user to display on elements of a model, and to use to move parts of a model of a molecule relative to other parts. The system includes techniques for structure determination and display that significantly reduce the computer power required to perform system functions, rendering techniques formally reserved to supercomputers usable on smaller computer platforms. Physically based modeling is included, allowing the user to perturb the geometry of a model and to investigate interactively the effects of perturbation according to a dynamic force equation. The system also includes a procedure for displaying multiple models of molecules and performing docking studies between the models.

    摘要: A functional color selection system is provided for automatically generating a palette of coordinated, harmonious, and aesthetically pleasing colors from symmetrically manipulating colorimetrically specified colors in a perceptually uniform color space. The color selections system operates in a calibrated color display gamut using device independent color specifications based on internationally recognized color specification systems. A simple-to-use interface is provided for a user to select a key color on which the palette is to be based, and from the key color to select analogous and complement harmony colors. The user may also select chroma and lightness variations of the key, analogous, and complement harmony colors, and these colors will be computed at predetermined equally spaced intervals from those colors in the uniform color space. Colors are generated according to known color theories for selecting harmonious colors. The coordinated color palette selected may be saved in a palette memory for subsequent reuse in a wide variety of color presentation systems.

    摘要: A reference color selection system is provided for creating a palette of colorimetrically measured colors. Palettes of colorimetrically measured colors representing naturally occurring objects and specified using a standard device independent color specification, such as the CIE color specification, are arranged in a data base. A simple-to-use color selection user interface permits a user to retrieve, view, and modify each palette. The palette of colors is displayed in a simple arrangement on a display screen such as a color monitor. Each color is transformed into coordinates in a uniform color space, such as the CIELAB space. The user may delete colors not needed, and may create new colors for the palette by mixing two existing palette colors together. The mixing function simulates an artist's "color wash", and is a linear interpolation, or interval scale, in the uniform color space between two end colors selected by the user. A color from the range of intermediate colors may be added by the user to the selected palette, and the new palette may be stored for future use in a wide variety of color presentation systems.

    摘要: A video editing system comprising a computer system having a mass storage and a display, a video source, such as a video cassette recorder (VCR), camera, or optical disc player, and a video processor/controller linking the computer to the video source. The computer system functions under the direction of standard operating software and video editing software which provide the user with an interface for controlling both playback and clip editing of video information from the video source. Upon initialization of the editing system, the user is presented with at least a video window for displaying the video information, a control window for regulating playback of the video information, and a clip list window having a number of rows of edit windows organized under begin, end, and clip columns. The user controls playback of video from the video source within the video window through manipulation of standard playback direction and speed indicators. To mark a video frame in the video window as either a begin or end point of a video clip, the user clicks on the desired video frame with a mouse associated with the editing system. A small digitized version of the requested video frame is then created and attached to the cursor. This small digitized frame (SDF) can then be moved in tandem with the cursor from the video window to an edit window and released. Begin and end points of clips are created by releasing an SDF within an edit window under the appropriate column. Releasing an SDF within an edit window under the clip column causes that SDF to be entered as both the begin and end point of the clip. Numerous rows of edit windows can be created in a similar manner. When the begin and end edit windows in the same row are filled with different SDFs, the video frames between those respective points are digitized and automatically inserted into the clip column for that row in an animated form. SDFs can likewise be directly manipulated to modify the content or sequence of edit windows or to change the video frame being played within the video window.
