The relationships are applicable to relate objects selected from a set of objects. The method comprises following method operations: receiving a first identification of a first selected object from the set of objects, receiving a second identification of a second selected object from the set of objects, identifying object types of the selected objects in a plurality of object types, determining one or more relationship types of which one or more relationships are applicable to the selected objects by using the identified object types, and generating for the context menu an entry representing a relationship of the one or more relationship types, wherein the relationship is selectable by the user to be created between the selected objects.

    摘要: One or more embodiments of the invention provide a method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for defining mating properties of a graphical component in a computer-implemented drawing program. An option to create a first constraint interface for a first geometric characteristic of a first component is initiated. In response to the initiation, a dialog window for specifying settings for the first constraint interface regardless of whether a second constraint interface is currently displayed is displayed. The settings define mating properties for how the first geometric characteristic of the first component mates with the second constraint interface. Once specified, the first constraint interface of the first geometric characteristic is persisted with the first component.

    摘要: A portable phone is described having a display, input device for inputting information and instructions, and a control unit controlling the display in dependence on the operation of the input device. The input device includes a navigation device for moving a marker in an active part of the display. The navigation device is provided with a roller body and includes the ability for detecting the rolling and depression of the roller body and for providing control signals in response thereto. In an information input mode, the control unit moves the marker in the display in dependence on the rolling control signal and generates a pop-up window upon reception of the depression control signal, the pop-up window covering a part of the active display and containing operations which are allowed in a position defined by the marker.

    摘要: An I/O control window is created on a user's terminal screen when a parallel program is executing. The I/O control window displays an array of graphical elements (preferably small colored squares), which are partitioned into groups of one or more such elements, each partition representing a task (or thread) of the parallel program. In each partition there is one graphical element which represents the I/O status of the task or thread represented by that partition and is called an I/O status indicator. Each I/O status indicator is capable of assuming any one of several different graphical states (each graphical state preferably being a color for the graphical element), one of which indicates that the corresponding task or thread has provided text output that has not been displayed to the user yet and another of which indicates that the corresponding task (or thread) is requesting text input from the user. The user can open a text window on the user's terminal screen which is dedicated for I/O with a particular task (or thread) by placing a mouse on a graphical element in the I/O control array partition representing that particular task (or thread) and pressing a specified mouse button. Many separate I/O windows like this may be opened at the same time and any I/O window can be closed as well through use of the mouse.

    摘要: In a data processing apparatus having a windowing user interface a user may manipulate data using dialog boxes. If the user requests the creation of more than one dialog box then the system checks to see if a dialog box for the active logically defined division within the application has already been raised and whether the request for the second dialog box would if granted allow the user to interfere with data integrity. If the system determines that data integrity could be jeopardized by creating the second dialog box then the request is refused. The freedom of action of the user is only restricted to the extent needed to protect data integrity. The system links dialog boxes and other items within a given logically defined division of an application together in a chain structure and allows a user to switch focus between them using cursor keys thereby clearly visually indicating the relationship between them.
