    摘要: The present invention relates to a sweetening composition comprising neohesperidin dihydrochalcone (NHDC) and gamma-cyclodextrin, to the use of the sweetening composition for sweetening ingestible products, namely, food products and pharmaceuticals, and to an ingestible product comprising the sweetening composition. Furthermore, the present invention also relates to the use of a composition comprising neohesperidin dihydrochalcone and a cyclodextrin selected from beta-cyclodextrin and gamma-cyclodextrin as taste-masking agent, to a process for masking unpleasant tastes in ingestible products, namely in food products and pharmaceuticals, and to ingestible products which comprise unpleasantly tasting substances and the taste-masking composition.

    摘要: Provided herein are microencapsulated chitosan materials and formulations containing same, methods of making such formulations, and methods of using such formulations. Application of a microencapsulation coating on chitosan materials and formulations containing same renders possible the use of chitosan materials for different, novel chitosan-based dietary applications with the primary aim to decrease intestinal absorption of fat and enhance overall health, without interfering with or reducing food palatability. The present invention provides methods to microencapsulate highly effective chitosan or chitosan salts to moderate their interaction with food components and mask any off-flavors and off-tastes but allow rapid chitosan solubilization under gastric acid conditions and simultaneous binding of ingested lipids. Chitosan contemplated for use herein is preferably of high quality with high fat-binding capacity, and its source is preferably of crustacean origin.

    摘要: A plant-based beverage is disclosed. The beverage comprises: (a) an amount of a first liquid; (b) an amount of an oat-derived protein; and (c) an amount of a chickpea-derived protein. In some embodiments, the beverage further comprises a prebiotic fiber. A method for making a plant-based beverage comprising: liquids mixed to make a liquid mixture comprising: an amount of water; an amount of liquid flavor; an amount of a plant-based oil; solids are added to the mixture comprising: an amount of oat-derived protein; an amount of chickpea-derived protein; agitating the mixture until the solids are dispersed in solution. A method of altering the microbiome in the gastrointestinal tract of a subject is disclosed. The method comprising: orally administering to the subject a liquid comprising: an oat protein and a chickpea protein; so as to alter the microbiome in the gastrointestinal tract of the subject as compared to an untreated control.
