    摘要: An apparatus for performing an operation on a fluid material to separate liquid from solid matter within the fluid material The apparatus comprises a belt structure movable along a path. The belt structure comprises a belt portion adapted to be assembled into a movable tubular structure within which at least part of the operation is to be performed. The tubular structure is permeable to liquid for separation of liquid from solid matter within the fluid material. The tubular structure is continuously assembled at one end thereof and continuously disassembled at another end thereof during movement of the belt structure. The path includes a descending portion along which the assembled tubular structure passes, the descending portion being inclined whereby at least some of the solid matter within fluid material in the tubular structure is caused to move downwardly along the descending portion under the influence of gravity to facilitate cleaning of the permeable tubular structure.

    摘要: A belt filter apparatus for treating material to separate solid and liquid components comprises an endless belt structure adapted to circulate around a path incorporating guide roller structures around which the belt structure passes. The endless belt structure comprises an elongate belt portion of water permeable material, and has two opposed longitudinal edges. A zipper releasably connects the two longitudinal edges together to form a tubular structure with a flexible sidewall. The circulating path includes an assembly zone where the longitudinal edges are brought together and connected by the zipper to form the tubular structure, and a disassembly zone at which the zipper is released to separate the longitudinal edges and open the tubular structure. Means are provided for compressing a portion of the tubular structure to express liquid from the material contained in the tubular structure. The liquid discharges from the tubular structure through the water permeable belt portion.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for separating dry matter from liquid includes an enclosed separation environment capable of being pressure regulated. Within the enclosed separation environment, a suspension is brought into contact with at least one filter so as to accumulate dry matter on the at least one filter. The filter with the dry matter passes through at least one set of rollers such that liquid is removed from the dry matter on the at least one filter to form a substantially dry filter cake. Thereafter, the substantially dry filter cake is removed from the at least one filter. The above steps are performed in the enclosed separation environment either under vacuum or overpressure. The invention may be used in various fields such as the food industry.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are a method for removing liquid from a permeable material, such as slurries, sludges, porous solids and permeable foams. The method involves constraining the material to be deliquified such that the material interfaces with at least one surface which is permeable to the liquid to be removed and then heating the material at one or more locations remote from the permeable surface or surfaces. Such constraining and heating of the material causes the in situ vaporization of the liquid in the vicinity of the remote location or locations. The vaporized liquid expands and forces at least some of the remaining unvaporized liquid through the permeable surface or surfaces. Because only a portion of the liquid contained in the material must be vaporized and such vaporized portion is used to remove at least some of the remaining unvaporized liquid (thereby avoiding the necessity of vaporizing all of the liquid containing in the material), significant reductions in the energy required to substantially deliquify the material may be realized through the use of the method disclosed herein.

    摘要: A method for dewatering a slurry of solid particles suspended in a liquid using a twin belt press dewatering system, comprising the following steps:feeding the slurry of solid particles into the dewatering system;feeding a cationic amine salt solution into the dewatering system at a point just prior to the mixing drum, the cationic amine salt being a latex copolymer of acrylamide and dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate sulfuric acid salt having a mole ratio in the range between about 30:70 to 70:30, preferably 53:47;mixing the cationic amine salt solution with the slurry of solid particles in the mixing drum; andfeeding the cationic amine salt solution/slurry mixture to the twin belt press, whereby the slurry of solid particles is dewatered. The cationic amine salt solution having a strength of less than 1% and a polymer concentration of about 35%.
