摘要: A nonwoven fabric is formed of fibers of 0.10 μm or more and 5.00 μm or less. The nonwoven fabric includes a coarse layer portion and a dense layer portion. In the coarse layer portion, a void volume Pc is at least 90% and an average pore diameter Dc is in a range of 0.5 μm or more and 50 μm or less. In the dense layer portion, a void volume Pd is at least 70% and a relative standard deviation of pore diameter distribution is 20% or less.

摘要: A filter media having lignite-derived activated carbon, polyacrylic acid (PAA), a commercially available copper-zinc alloy, and polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PolyDADMAC) or Luviquat®, which is Poly[(3-methyl-1-vinylimidazolium chloride)-co-(1-vinylpyrrolidone)], combined and used as suitable replacement for TOG bituminous coal-based activated carbon, silver, and PolyDADMAC. Functional groups in lignite-based activated carbon interact with the polyacrylic acid. Functional groups such as calcium, iron, or aluminum oxide/hydroxide of lignite-based activated carbon interact with PAA, and help hold the PolyDADMAC in place. The additional presence of a copper-zinc alloy enhances the filter anti-microbiological performance.

A support structure is coupled to at least one longitudinal end of the filter media pack.

摘要: A filtration media with improved filtration, strength, tear resistance and air permeability in the form of a relatively thin and lightweight wet-laid fibrous web that has a wet Mullen ratio of 60% to 80% to ensure that the media is flexible enough to be formed into a fluted structure, and strong enough to retain the fluted structure when wound into a roll and to permit further processing without the media becoming too brittle. The filtration media comprises a blend of cellulose and synthetic fibers having a weight percent of 81 wt % to 87 wt % of a weight of the media and a resin binder having a weight of 13 wt % to 19 wt % (preferably about 16 wt %) of the weight of the media.

摘要: Infused oil polishing systems and methods reduce or remove chlorophyll from bulk biomass saturated ethanol. A processing vessel includes a valved input port for receiving a biomass mixture and a valved output port for expelling a polished mixture containing the desired extract. The vessel is pressurized or evacuated, causing the chlorophyll-containing carbon to be trapped by the filter assembly as the desired extract mixture is discharged. The equipment operates at relatively low pressures of 40 psi or less, and one operator can run multiple units. The end user can control the degree of polishing by adjusting the amount of media used and resident time. The basic apparatus can also be modified to run in parallel or series combinations to increase throughput. An optional elevating rack provides for ease of cleaning, and no expensive ancillary equipment needs to be purchased.

The fibrous web exhibits a wet burst strength of greater than 3 bar, for example between about 3 bar to about 6 bar and is especially suitable for use in filtering process fluids (e.g., water) associated with wire electron discharge machining (WEDM).
