Abstract:
An inkjet recording system comprising a pigment-based ink in combination with a recording element having a porous substrate with relatively large pores and a relatively thin overlying surface layer which traps pigment particles, from an applied pigmented ink, at or near the surface while not unduly restricting ink flow into the underlying porous substrate.
Abstract:
To print air-permeable textile material (8), successive areas (5) of the textile material (8) to be printed are brought incrementally into an area (5) covered by at least one ink jet print head (1). By means of the ink jet print head (1) ink is selectively applied to the textile, according to predetermined picture information. Ink applied to the textile material (8) is finally subjected to a treatment for fixing the ink. By keeping the textile material (8) tensioned in the area (5) covered by the ink jet print head (1) over a free space (28) on the side of the textile material (8) remote from the ink jet print head (1), an improved penetration and adhesion of the ink and a limitation of the spreading of the ink are ensured. Furthermore, an apparatus for printing textile tensioned over a free space is described.
Abstract:
A method and mechanism for cleaning a paper transport belt of undesirable ink deposits caused by ink-jet aerosol and printing overshoot operations uses a special cleaning medium. An absorbent material is positioned in the print zone of a hard copy apparatus to scrub the belt. An ink solvent is used to rehydrate dried ink. The scrubber can be in the form of consumable sheets or a continuous roll form.
Abstract:
An inkjet ink of multicolor dye set with high light-fastness and high water-fastness includes: a multicolor dye set, a surfactant, and an aqueous solvent. The multicolor dye set includes a cyan dye set, a magenta dye set, and a yellow dye set. The cyan dye set includes direct blue 199 dye, acid blue 9 dye, and direct blue 86 dye. The magenta dye set includes reactive red 180 dye, acid red 52 dye, and reactive red dye. The yellow dye set includes acid yellow 23 and direct yellow 86 dye. When the multicolor dye set of the invention is applied in ink-jet printing process, the high-quality printed image possesses great light-fastness and water-fastness high chroma, broad color gamut.
Abstract:
An ink for ink jet recording and an ink jet recording method which realize an image quality of laser printer on a plain paper in a one-pass printing mode under conditions of a volume of an ink droplet ejected being 5 to 43 Pico liter, a velocity of an ink droplet being 6 to 20 m/sec, frequency of 1 kHz and resolution of 300 dpi or more. The ink for ink jet recording is a penetrating type ink which includes (1) at least one humectant selected from glycerin, 1,3-butandiol, triethyleneglycol, 1,6-hexanediol, propyleneglycol, 1,5-pentanediol, diethyleneglycol, dipropyleneglycol, trimethylolpropane and trimethylolethane, (2) colorant contained in the amount of 6% by weight or more, (3) a polyol having 8 to 11 carbon atoms and glycolether, and an anionic surfactants or non-ionic surfactants, the ink has viscosity of 5 mPa·s or more at 25° C. and a surface tension of 40 mN/m or less.
Abstract:
An ink jet card printer is disclosed that includes an ink jet printhead and a transport mechanism. The ink jet printhead is adapted to print on portions of a surface of a card that are presented in a print position along a print path. The transport mechanism includes at least one cantilevering mechanism that is positioned to a side of the print position along the print path. The cantilevering mechanism is adapted to unobstructively present the surface of the card to the printhead in the print position.
Abstract:
An ink-jet ink comprising a photopolymerizable compound, a photopolymerization initiator and a colorant, wherein the ink has a viscosity of 500 to 50,000 mPa·s at 25° C. and a viscosity of 3 to 30 mPa·s at 80° C.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method of making an ink-jet-ink-derived material image on a receiver. An ink jet device is used to form a coagulable ink image on an intermediate member. Coagulates within the coagulable ink image are formed, and excess liquid is removed from the coagulates so as to form an ink-jet-ink-derived material image. The ink-jet-ink-derived image from the operational surface of the intermediate member is transferred to another member, which another member may be a receiver member, a drum or a web.
Abstract:
An inkjet printing composition for coating a substrate to receive dye images thereon includes: (a) a polymer for absorbing said dye images, and (b) a dye fixative therein to inhibit migration of dye images from one part of the substrate to other portions thereof.
Abstract:
An ink-jet recording a water-based ink from an ink chamber through a nozzle hole, wherein the ink chamber contacting with the water-based ink is constructed by jointing plural construction members with an epoxy adhesive, and the water-based in contains a coloring material, a first organic solvent, and a second organic solvent each having properties of a specific organicity and inorganicity. This method enables to enhance the stability of ejection of ink droplets without shortening the life of the head.
