    摘要: Container systems used in storage, deployment or retrieval of a seismic cable array comprise a container, at least two coiling elements attached to a bottom side of the container, and storage means for allocating or accommodating, in an ordered arrangement, a number of seismic stations and/or a number of couplers/splices and/or other discontinuities which are being interconnected by sections of the seismic cable. Said storage means is arranged between said coiling elements and are attached to the bottom side of the container. The seismic cable is spooled or wound around said coiling elements. Corresponding methods of storing a seismic cable and deploying/retrieving the seismic cable are based on the use of at least two coiling elements and storage means for allocating or accommodating a number of seismic stations and/or a number of couplers/splices and/or a number of other discontinuities and arranged between said coiling elements.

    摘要: The present invention provides a castable pedestal-type support apparatus which supports a cargo shipping container on a transportation vehicle in a position to be secured thereto by a particular style locking mechanism. Such apparatus includes a body portion with a pivot pin receiving portion extending outwardly from a portion of an outer surface of each of a pair of side wall portions of such body portion. An aperture is formed through the pivot pin receiving portion. The apparatus further includes a box-like member formed at one end of the body portion to receive a locking mechanism therein. There is a counterweight disposed at the other end of the body portion to provide a minimal force being required to pivot the apparatus from an inoperative container supporting position into an operative container supporting position.

    摘要: A load binder or lashing tightener is provided made up of a first inner elongate sleeve member closed at one end, an anchor fitting on said closed end, a thread nut in the other end of said first sleeve, a second outer sleeve having one end adapted to telescope over the first inner sleeve, an anchor member on said second sleeve adjacent the other end, an elongate screw extending through the second sleeve, one end threadingly engaging the nut in said first sleeve, the other end rotatably fixed in the said other end of said second sleeve, a drive on said other end for rotating said screw whereby said second sleeve is caused to telescope over the first sleeve and the anchors on said sleeves are brought together and an anchor member at the said one end of said second sleeve adapted to receive the lashing to be tightened after the sleeves have been telescoped. The drive may be a hand knob protected by a spacer ring on the second sleeve.

    摘要: In order to adapt a container lashing bar to securely fasten its hooking-in fitting not only in the lower corner lateral openings of a standard shipping container, but also in the differently-shaped upper corner end openings, the usual hooking-in fitting which includes a pin with a locking lug extending from it is provided with a second locking lug extending in the same plane as the first, but in a substantially different angular direction. Particular mechanical design elaborations are described including replication of the two locking lugs in mirror image on the opposite end of the same pin, or on the same side of a similar pin provided on the opposite end of the bar.

    摘要: A lashing rod for lashing vertically stacked containers. The containers have hollow corner castings and the lashing rod has a head comprising a stud adapted for passage through a side access opening of the casting. The locking head is securable to the casting by rotating the head about a pivotal axis so that the stud engages an inner wall of the casting. A fitting, having a locking pin receiving bore, partially extends into a corner casting and is adapted for interconnecting two abutting stacked containers. The locking head has a locking pin adapted for insertion into the bore upon passage of the stud into the side access opening so that the locking head is rotatable for securing the locking head to the casting while the pin is inserted in the bore.

    摘要: A deck container restraint system is disclosed which unitizes discrete containers against vertical movement in modules of three-wide, typically four-high stacks or columns to prevent overboard loss due to static and dynamic load conditions experienced at sea. A three-wide, one-high bottom tier of containers is secured against side to side and vertical movement by deck cones having locking devices. The overlying three-wide second tier is secured against side to side and vertical movement by cones having locking devices at the top of the first tier. Finally the three-wide, two-high top third and fourth tiers of containers are loaded, first by being tied vertically together by cones having locking devices and second, by being lifted in vertically tied pairs onto stacking fittings at the second-third tier interface. The stacking fittings restrain side to side movement at the second-third tier interface only. Upon completion of placement of the third and fourth tier, an equalizing spreader fits over the top of the three-wide, four-high container columns or stacks, restraining relative vertical and horizontal movement between the corners of adjacent containers. By providing for remote fastening of the equalizer to the top of the three-wide, four-high module, container restraint against dynamic loadings commonly experienced at sea can occur without conventional horizontal or vertical ties. Provision is made to expand the module to container columns on either side if additional equalizer spreaders are used.
