摘要: Actuators (artificial muscles) comprising twist-spun nanofiber twist-inserted polymer fibers generate tensile actuation when powered electrically, photonically, chemically, thermally, by absorption, or by other means. These artificial muscles utilize coiled polymer fibers and can be either neat or comprising a guest. In some embodiments, the coiled polymer fibers actuator can be incorporated into an article, such as a textile, braid, clothing, smart packaging, or a mechanical system, and the coiled polymer fiber in the coiled polymer fiber actuator can have a stroke amplification factor of 5 or greater.

摘要: Provided is a method for manufacturing a fishing net formed from a plastic net that can be handled by winding or folding although the net has plastic rigidity. The fishing net is manufactured by (1) a step of preparing a multifilament yarn formed by bundling a plurality of core-sheath type composite filaments, in each of which a core component is made of polyethylene terephthalate and a sheath component is made of polyolefin, (2) a step of preparing a yarn thread obtained by paralleling a plurality of the multifilament yarns, (3) a step of twisting or braiding four yarn threads 11, 12, 13, 14 to obtain a net constructed with strands 1 and intersections 2, (4) a step of heat-treating the net under without pressure to melt the sheath component of the yarn threads 11, 12, 13, 14 constituting the strands 1 and the intersections 2, followed by solidifying, thus obtaining a plastic net, and (5) a step of forming the fishing net using the plastic net.

摘要: Silk woven fabric is known and renowned for its touch. The drawback of silk, however, is its price, its poor washability, and low resistance against certain chemical treatments. It is therefore the object of the invention to provide a silk-like woven fabric which overcomes these problems. According to the invention, this problem is solved by providing a silk-like woven fabric (2) made from weft yarns (4) and warp yarns (6), wherein at least one of the weft yarns (4) and the warp yarns (6) contains or consists of lyocell filaments (8). Especially twisted lyocell filament yarns are used, the resulting material has a touch comparable to silk and physical properties that are equal to or even surpass those of silk. Moreover, the lyocell filament yarns (4, 6) may have a higher twist than silk yarns, other cellulose yarns, or synthetic yarns.
