    摘要: A terrestrial digital television receiver includes a tuner, a demodulator, a demultiplexer, a decoder, and a controller. The tuner receives a terrestrial television signal having an emergency alert table which contains text representing an emergency alert message. The demodulator demodulates the television signal and the demultiplexer demultiplexes the emergency alert table from the demodulated signal. The decoder parses the text data representing the emergency alert message, and the controller control operation of a display device such that the emergency alert message is scrolled across a predetermined portion of a video screen.

    摘要: A sampling rate allocation method for a wireless sensor network is provided. In this method, a distributed computing method is adopted to allow each node to calculate and obtain its decision table and energy table and upload its energy table to its parent node, and finally, the number of samples to be provided by all the child nodes is determined according to the decision table of the root node and a total sample number. Compared to the conventional techniques, the present invention provides a wireless sensor network which has longer life time and can meet the requirements to both the total number of samples and the fairness.

    摘要: A method of operating an ad-hoc network having a plurality of wireless nodes includes operating the wireless nodes using a routing protocol, such as OLSR, so that the wireless nodes store forward multi-point relay (MPR) spanning tree routes and reverse MPR spanning tree routes. A first wireless node communicates with a second wireless node using a reverse MPR spanning tree route. The method further includes determining whether the reverse MPR spanning tree route has become unavailable between the first and second wireless nodes and that no other reverse MPR spanning tree route has yet become available, and, if so, using at least portions of a forward MPR spanning tree route for communication between the first and second wireless nodes. The symmetric OLSR approach may be effective in avoiding unnecessary route drops caused by the interaction between distribution-of-topology-change-information conditions and exclusively routing via the destination node's reverse-MPR-spanning tree.

The group of monitored alarm devices can be easily set up, purchased and activated by a consumer, and do not become permanent fixtures.

Each disaster alert device includes a radio receiver, and a processor programmed to monitor radio transmissions from one or more central stations for disaster alerts directed to the location of the disaster alert device. Each alert device also includes an audio unit to alert personnel located at the site of the device to the precise nature of the disaster. The disaster alert devices are pre-programmed with information identifying the precise use location of the warning device. This use location information includes latitude and longitude of the use location and may also include other location information such as street address and zip code. Warnings are broadcast from central stations identifying with latitude and longitude information specific at-risk regions to which the warnings are directed which could be, for example, nationwide, statewide, countywide, or to much smaller regions, such as several houses on a single street or even a single residence. Each disaster alert device is preferably programmed to ignore all warnings directed to at-risk regions that do not include the latitude and longitude of the use location of the device.
