摘要: In a communication system having multiple nodes communicably connected via a network, at least two of the nodes each includes: a software-operated data generator that executes arithmetic processing using software to generate transmission data to be transmitted to another node; a data transmission unit that sends out the transmission data; a data accepting unit that accepts data transmitted from another node; a software-operated controller that executes arithmetic processing using software based on at least the data accepted by the data accepting unit to control hardware serving as a control target; and an interrupt accepting unit that accepts interrupt data generated by another node and, based on the accepted interrupt data, outputs a hardware control signal to the hardware serving as the control target or other hardware associated with the node such that the hardware is directly controlled based on the hardware control signal without via the software-operated controller.

摘要: Disclosed is a method of implementing a redundant network. Ring network nodes in an initial state are set as master stations, ring ports are set in a half-blocked state, a master station election notification message is broadcast to the ring ports within a preset time interval, the nodes receive the master station election notification message, a node quality comparison vector is compared with node quality comparison vectors of the nodes to elect a master and standby stations, one of the ring ports is in the half-blocked state, the other ring ports are in a forwarding state, the master station broadcasts the master station election notification message to the ring ports, the standby master station stops sending the master station election notification message, the ring ports are in the forwarding state, and the message sent by the master station is received.

摘要: In one embodiment, micro-loops are avoided in ring topologies of packet switching devices by changing the order of propagation of link state information concerning failed communications between a particular packet switching device and a neighbor packet switching device. In one embodiment, the particular packet switching device communicates link state information of a high cost of the particular communications (e.g., in the direction from particular to neighbor packet switching devices) such that this link state information will propagate towards the particular packet switching device from at least from the furthest packet switching device in the ring topology that is currently configured to forward packets having a destination address of the neighbor packet switching device through the particular packet switching device.

摘要: To improve fault tolerance of a ring network, provided is a data transfer device system belonging to a ring network system. The data transfer device system includes a plurality of data transfer devices; the plurality of data transfer devices including a first data transfer device and a second data transfer device connected with the first data transfer device; the first data transfer device having a first ring port; and the second data transfer device having a second ring port. The first data transfer device controls whether to permit the first ring port and the second ring port to transfer data based on a state of the network system, an attribute of the first data transfer device in the data transfer device system, and an attribute of the data transfer device system in the network system.

摘要: A clearinghouse is used to determine caller location for VoIP calls. The clearinghouse maintains (i) a first correlation between a first IP address and a first ISP and (ii) a second correlation between a second IP address and a second ISP. The clearinghouse receives the first IP address from a VoIP service provider (VSP). The first IP address is a source address of a request from a VoIP telephone to set up a call, received by the VSP from the first ISP. The clearinghouse references the first correlation and queries the first ISP with the first IP address. The clearinghouse then receives from the first ISP a location associated with the first IP address. The clearinghouse transmits this location to an entity such as the VSP or, for a 911 call, perhaps a PSAP. The clearinghouse may select the PSAP based at least in part on the location.

摘要: The invention relates to a local network operating in the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), comprising a plurality of stations (10) which are each coupled to transmitting and receiving ring lines (16, 19) via a network interface (9) which comprises at least one switch (11) and which stations are provided for transmitting cells. The switch (11) is arranged for relaying a user cell containing information relating to the user from a receiving ring line (16) to the transmitting ring line (19) and/or to the station (10) or from a station (10) to the transmitting ring line (19) in response to status information. Furthermore, the switch is used for relaying a control cell, used at least for storing switching functions, from a receiving ring line (16) to the transmitting ring line (19) and/or to a controller (24) controlling the switch (11) and/or to the station (10), or from the controller (24) to the transmitting ring line (19) and/or to the station (10), or from the station (10) to the transmitting ring line (19) and/or to the controller (24).
