Abstract: Provided are devices for camera cleaning and flare reduction for vehicles, which can include a cleaning device for cleaning a transparent window of a housing containing a camera system. The devices can include optical panels with different properties that can be moved in front of the transparent window for flare reduction. Methods are provided which can include analyzing at least one image to determine a presence of an optical flare within the at least one image, and, based on detecting the optical flare, causing at least one optical panel to be moved into a position in front of a lens of the imaging device. Computer program products are also provided.

Abstract: A cleaner system for cleaning a sensor mounted on a vehicle includes a first cleaner unit configured to clean a first sensor, a second cleaner unit configured to clean a second sensor different from the first sensor, and a solenoid valve configured to switch a duct of a cleaning medium supplied from a supply source. The solenoid valve is switchable such that the duct is connected to the first cleaner unit during non-energization, and the duct is connected to the second cleaner unit during energization, and the first sensor is provided in front of the second sensor in the vehicle.

Abstract: A cleaning device for a vehicle sensor includes: a housing having an open first end, an open second end, and a passageway extending between the open first end and the open second end; and at least one nozzle at least partially positioned within the passageway of the housing. The at least one nozzle includes an outlet that provides at least one liquid stream through the open first end of the housing towards a lens or cover of the vehicle sensor. The housing is positioned such that air streams passing through the passageway pass through the open first end of the housing towards the lens or cover of the vehicle sensor with the at least one liquid stream. A sensor assembly and sensor system including the cleaning device are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A sensor apparatus includes a cylindrical sensor window defining an axis and an air nozzle positioned at one end of the sensor window and shaped to direct airflow in a direction parallel to the axis across the sensor window. The air nozzle extends circumferentially relative to the axis around the sensor window. The nozzle is formed of an inner edge and an outer edge each extending circumferentially relative to the axis around the sensor window. The inner edge is circular with a radius at least as great as an outer radius of the sensor window. The outer edge includes a first portion with a semicircular shape with a radius smaller than the outer radius of the sensor window and a second portion that extends circumferentially relative to the axis around the sensor window from the first portion to the first portion at a constant radial distance from the inner edge.

Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning a cover lens of a vehicle headlamp is configured to generate an airstream and direct it towards the cover lens. The cleaning device includes at least one air stream device (ASD) configured to generate at least one airstream in an airflow direction. Each ASD includes an air chamber having a spreading section for spreading the received air, a homogenization section for homogenizing the spread air, and a nozzle for outputting the received air in the airflow direction and forming the respective airstream. The spreading section includes a guide channel configured to spread the received air transversely to the airflow direction and to guide the received air to the homogenization section. The ASD is formed by: (i) a main component including parts of each of the spreading section, homogenization section, and nozzle of the air chamber of each ASD, (ii) a separation component including parts of the spreading section and nozzle, wherein the separation and main components form the spreading section of each ASD, and (iii) a cover component including parts of the homogenization portion and nozzle, wherein the cover, main, and separation components form the homogenization section and the nozzle of the ASD.
