摘要: An encapsulating material for compression molding includes an epoxy resin, a curing agent, and an inorganic filler. In an image obtained by observing, with an ultrasonic flaw detector, a compression-molded body formed by compression-molding the encapsulating material for compression molding on a substrate with a silicon chip interposed, the area of the portion other than dark spots of the region corresponding to the compression-molded body on the chip is 86% or more of the area of the entire region corresponding to the compression-molded body on the chip.

摘要: The invention relates to a process for hot-spraying a non-aqueous two-component filler coating composition comprising a binder component (A) and a curing component (B) onto a substrate wherein binder component (A) comprises an epoxy resin and curing component (B) comprises a curing agent for curing the epoxy resin and wherein the filler coating composition comprises in the range of from 15 to 35 wt % hollow glass microspheres having an average density in the range of from 0.23 to 0.70 g/cm3 and a mean particle size of at most 52 μm, in the range of from 0 to 15 wt % inorganic solid material other than hollow glass microspheres, and in the range of from 0 to 20 wt % organic solvent.

摘要: Disclosed are systems for treating a substrate comprising a deoxidizing composition and a coating composition. The deoxidizing composition comprises a Group IVA metal and/or a Group IVB metal and free fluoride, optionally may comprise a homopolymer or copolymer comprising a phosphorous-containing monomeric subunit, and has a pH of 1.0 to 3.0. The coating composition comprises first and second components and elastomeric particles. The first component comprises an epoxy-containing compound (E1) and/or an epoxide-functional adduct (E2). The second component comprises a diamine and/or a polyamine comprising a cyclic ring (A2) and/or an amine-functional adduct (A3). The present invention is also directed to methods of making the compositions, methods of coating a substrate, and coated substrates.

摘要: Compositions are described for protecting a metal surface against corrosion. The composition includes a corrosion-inhibiting particle. The corrosion inhibiting particle may be usable in an epoxy resin-based coating or an olefin resin-based coating. The particle may include a core and a protectant. The core may include a water soluble corrosion inhibitor. The protectant may be disposed on at least a portion of a surface of the core and may be covalently or ionically bonded to a thiol group of the corrosion inhibitor. The protectant may be configured to reduce reaction between the core and the epoxy resin or the olefin resin. Methods of making the compositions are also disclosed.

摘要: Various embodiments include an impregnation formulation for a wrapping tape insulation of an electrical machine. The formulation comprises: a resin formulation with an epoxy base resin and a first component; and a hardener formulation with a hardener. The resin formulation reacts when combined with the hardener formulation to produce an insulation material. The first component includes a saturated and/or unsaturated epoxycycloalkyl group. A glass transition temperature of the insulation material is elevated compared to an impregnation formulation without the first component.

摘要: A method to prevent corrosion of a susceptible article of a two-article system, in which first and second articles of the two-article system have surfaces facing one another and in which the two articles have different anodic indices includes applying a coating material to the surface of the first article and curing the coating material on the surface of the first article. The method further includes contacting and securing the surface of the first article with the surface of the second article. The two articles exhibit substantially no corrosion following exposure to a corrosive environment under standard GMW17026 for a 15 year simulated test.

摘要: Articles including durable and icephobic polymeric coatings are disclosed. The polymeric coatings include a bonding layer which may contain a substantially fully cured polymeric resin providing excellent adhesion to metallic or polymer substrates. The polymeric coating further includes an outer surface layer which is smooth, hydrophobic and icephobic and, in addition to a substantially fully cured resin, contains silicone comprising additives near the exposed outer surface. The anisotropic polymeric coatings are particularly suited for strong and lightweight parts required in aerospace, automotive and sporting goods applications. A process for making the articles is disclosed as well.
