    摘要: An ultrasonic flow measuring method and apparatus thereof comprises a plurality of ultrasonic vibrator apparatus mounted around the peripheral edge of a large caliber pipe at predetermined intervals, in which the ultrasonic vibrator apparatus are disposed at intervals of l=2R/(n+1) on one side radius R and at intervals of l'=R/(n+1)on the opposite side radius as well as operated in an alternating sequential arrangement in order to avoid the interference with one another, the ultrasonic vibrator apparatus are mounted on the outer wall of the pipe by being inserted into a hole of the pipe wall at a predetermined angle to the center line of the pipe, and the ultrasonic vibrator apparatus comprises a body inserted into the pipe wall; a first chamber constituted as a part of the body, for receiving an ultrasonic vibrator; and a second chamber constituted as a part of the body, for receiving a block having an acoustic resistance identical to that of the liquid flowing in the large caliber pipe to be measured, in which the ultrasonic vibrator and the block are integrated with each other, and the block is fitted into the body or supported in the body by means of a supporter, the upper surface of which is flush with the inner surface of the pipe.The ultrasonic flow measuring apparatus comprises an ultrasonic flow measuring circuit, which enables the delay time and the actual propagation distance of the ultrasonic pulses in the liquid to be precisely measured and corrected, if necessary.

    摘要: A determination is made whether a minimum threshold period (or frequency) change has occurred in an oscillator signal indicating the initial presence of a vehicle over an inductive sensor. The change in period of the oscillator signal is measured over each of a plurality of frame segments. A magnitude of period change in the oscillator signal is recorded. If the number of frame segments that occur between detection of the threshold change in period and the magnitude change in period is less than a predetermined number, the detector does not make a speed measurement calculation. If the number of frame segments equals or exceeds the predetermined number, the time rate of change of the period of the oscillator signal is estimated. A vehicle detector calculates a sensor entry distance for a particular vehicle. A vehicle entry time is calculated by dividing the magnitude of period change by the rate of period change. Speed is then calculated by dividing the entry distance by the vehicle entry time. The speed measurement is directed to an output by activating the output for a period of time proportional to the speed of the vehicle. Multiple vehicles may be detected by adjusting the minimum threshold period change, after each vehicle passes, by the peak change in oscillator signal period caused by that vehicle. Vehicle length may be calculated by multiplying the measured speed by the total time between vehicle entry and exit from the loop area, and subtracting the length of the detection area.

    摘要: A navigation instrument for roadway vehicles comprises a first counter for counting pulses each occurring in response to the vehicle moving a predetermined distance to detect the distance travelled from the starting point of a trip, a second counter for counting clock pulses to detect the time elapsed from the start of the vehicle. A microcomputer or digital circuitry is provided to compute on the data received from the first and second counters to derive an output data representative of the average speed of the vehicle over the distance so far travelled and to compare the computed average speed with a desired speed to detect the deviation of the actual average speed from the reference. A comparator is provided to detect when this deviation exceeds a predetermined value to generate a warning signal to alert the vehicle driver to correct the vehicle speed.
