摘要: A PTC heating element and an electric heating device containing such a PTC heating element are disclosed. The PTC heating element comprises two insulating layers with a metallic coating provided on one side and a PTC element arranged therebetween which is provided on oppositely disposed main side surfaces with a respective metallization which is electrically conductively connected to the coating of one of the insulating layers. The metallization provided on one of the main side surfaces is assigned only to one potential for energizing the PTC element. The metallization provided on the other main side surface is assigned to only the other potential for energizing the PTC element. The metallization of the one main side surface of the PTC element and the metallization of the other main side surface of the PTC element are formed in such a way that the current path (P) through the PTC element is extended relative to the thickness (D) of the PTC element.

摘要: An over-current protection device is a hexahedron comprising an upper surface, a lower surface and four lateral surfaces. The over-current protection device comprises a PTC device, a first insulating layer, a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer. The PTC device comprises a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and a PTC material layer laminated therebetween. The first conductive layer comprises a first conductive section and a second conductive section separated by at least one trench. The first insulating layer is disposed on the first conductive layer. The first electrode layer is disposed on the first insulating layer and electrically coupled to the first conductive section. The second electrode layer is disposed on the first insulating layer and electrically coupled to the second conductive section. The trench comprises a primary portion not parallel to a longitudinal direction of the first and second electrode layers.

Electrical strip conductors are prepared for connecting the heating and cooling element by a metal injection molding process or metal casting process.

摘要: A protection device including: (i) a protection component having a first thermal fuse and a resistive body, the resistive body being supplied with a current in an abnormal state to generate heat, the heat activating the first thermal fuse to cut off the current; (ii) a PTC component; and (iii) a second thermal fuse, the second thermal fuse being electrically connected in series to the PTC component, the first thermal fuse of the protection component being electrically connected in parallel to the PTC component and to the second thermal fuse, and the protection component being activated in the abnormal state so that the PTC component trips to generate heat, the heat blowing the second thermal fuse.

摘要: The present invention relates to an article suitable to act as a thermal switch device, the article having a surface resistance of more than 105 ohms and formed from a polymer composition comprising from 50 to 99.9 wt % relative to the total weight of the polymer composition, of a polymer being selected from an amorphous polymer having a glass transition temperature Tg, a semi-crystalline polymer having a melting temperature Tm or a mixture thereof, and from 0.1 to 50 wt % relative to the total weight of the polymer composition, of a conductive material, wherein the surface resistance of the article is divided by at least 10, preferably by at least 100, when said article is submitted for a determined period of time of less than 5 minutes to a temperature of switch i) ranging from Tg+10° C. to Tg+250° C. if the polymer composition comprises an amorphous polymer, or ii) ranging from Tm−80° C. to Tm+250° C. if the polymer composition comprises a semi-crystalline polymer.

摘要: A composite circuit protection device includes a polymer positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) component, a voltage-dependent resistor, a first conductive lead and a second conductive lead. The PPTC component is formed with a hole and includes a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) polymeric layer, and first and second electrode layers respectively disposed on two opposite surfaces of the PTC polymeric layer. The hole is formed in the PTC polymeric layer. The voltage-dependent resistor is connected to the second electrode layer of the PPTC component. The first and second conductive leads are respectively bonded to the first electrode layer of the PPTC component and the voltage-dependent resistor.
