Abstract: An upright surface cleaning apparatus comprises a surface cleaning and an upright section moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a generally upright position and a rearwardly inclined in use position. The upright section comprising a cleaning unit comprising a carry handle wherein the carry handle extends in a direction transverse to the central longitudinal axis of the surface cleaning head and wherein the carry handle has a hand grip portion that has a length in the transverse direction that is greater than a depth of the cleaning unit in a direction of the central longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A hand vacuum cleaner is provided with a first cyclonic cleaning stage, a pre-motor filter and a fluid flow motor. The first cyclonic stage has a bottom end, an upper end spaced longitudinally from the bottom end along a first stage axis, an air inlet and an air outlet, the first cyclonic cleaning stage comprising a first cyclone chamber and a first dirt collection region, the first dirt collection region having an end wall at the bottom end that is openable to empty the first dirt collection region. Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a cyclone chamber provided in an air flow path. The cyclone chamber has a screen assembly with an outlet section, a longitudinally spaced apart distal section and a longitudinally extending porous section. The outlet section includes a non-porous member extending longitudinally inwardly an outlet section length from an outlet end of the outlet section to a longitudinally inwardly positioned inlet end of the outlet section. The outlet end of the outlet section overlies a cyclone air outlet. The porous section extends longitudinally inwardly from an outlet end of the porous section that is located at the inlet end of the outlet section. The outlet section length is at least as long as the cyclone outlet port length.
