Abstract: The disclosed methods and systems use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to model the usage and interference on each channel. For example, units of the system can measure channel interference regularly over the time of day on all radios. The interference information is communicated to the base unit or a cloud server for pattern analysis. Interference measurements include interference from units within the system as well as interference from nearby devices. The base unit or the cloud server can recognize the pattern of the interference. Further, connected devices have a number of network usage characteristics observed and modeled including bitrate, and network behavior. These characteristics are used to assign channels to connected devices.

Abstract: A simultaneous client wireless device includes wireless modules configured to perform communication functions of lower MAC (media access control) and PHY (physical) layers for wireless radios operable in multiple wireless bands. The simultaneous client wireless device also includes a communication module configured as an intermediate layer between the lower MAC layer of the wireless modules and a network layer. The communication module is configured to use an application programming interface to retrieve information from the lower MAC layer and write information to the lower MAC layer of each wireless module, perform communication functions of an upper MAC layer for the wireless bands, and manage simultaneous communications over the wireless bands. The communications over the wireless bands can use a local area network protocol.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and embodiments related to a technique for controlling channel usage in a wireless network in a multi-band wireless networking system. In a wireless network with multiple wireless networking devices and one or more client devices, communications between the wireless networking devices occurs via a backhaul channel, and communication between the client(s) and the wireless networking devices occurs via a fronthaul channel. Based on interference characteristics of the wireless channels, a device determines a channel usage plan, and communicates the plan via the backhaul channel to the wireless networking devices of the wireless network.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include a method performed by a cloud system for changing a registration of a network access device. The method includes initiating a change of a registration of a network access device. The registration is stored at a cloud system and indicates ownership of the network access device by a first user. The method further includes receiving an authorization from the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device by the first user, and receiving an indication of a physical reset occurring locally at the network access device. The physical reset allows the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device. The method further includes, upon receiving both the authorization by the first user and the indication of the physical reset, releasing the ownership by the first user of the network access device at the cloud system.

Abstract: In an electronic video monitoring system for security and surveillance, a recording device can adaptively change a bit rate at which a video stream is transmitted so that image quality is prioritized, including above maintaining a continuous real-time transmission. In this way, image quality suitable for security and surveillance can be guaranteed close to real-time, despite changes in video transmission requirements and/or network demands. In one aspect, a frame rate can be lowered to no less than a minimum frame rate, a resolution can be lowered to no less than a minimum resolution, and the frame rate and resolution can be lowered to the minimum frame rate and the minimum resolution, respectively, before allowing an increase of compression of the video stream in view of the change in video transmission requirements and/or network demands. This allows sustaining image quality suitable for security and surveillance.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for adjusting the parameters in a network-connected security system based on analysis of content generated by electronic devices in the network-connected security system. In an example embodiment, content such as video captured by a video surveillance camera is processed to analyze the performance of the network-connected security system. Abstract: An access point is configured to communicate with a wireless client device over a plurality of wireless communication channels. The wireless client device has an active operation state and a standby operation state. The access point detects a property of each of a first wireless communication channel and a second wireless communication channel, and applies a policy to the detected properties to select one of the first wireless communication channel and the second wireless communication channel. While the wireless client device is in the active operation state, the access point steers the client device to communicate with the access point over the selected channel.
