Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to simultaneously connect to a primary cell (PCell) and a primary secondary cell (PSCell) of a wireless network, wherein a primary component carrier (PCC) of the PCell and a primary secondary component carrier (PSCC) of the PSCell are both in frequency range 1 (FR1). The UE receives a PCC measurement object (MO) configuration, a PSCC MO configuration, and an inter-frequency MO with no measurement gap configuration, determines a PCC MO carrier specific scaling factor (CSSF), a PSCC MO CSSF, and an inter-frequency MO with no measurement gap CSSF and applies each respective CSSF to a measurement period corresponding to each of the PCC MO, the PSCC MO, and the inter-frequency MO with no measurement gap to determine a scaled measurement period corresponding to each of the PCC MO, the PSCC MO, and the inter-frequency MO with no measurement gap.

Abstract: Some aspects relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing mechanisms for performing handover, radio link monitoring (RLM), beam failure detection (BFD), and candidate beam detection (CBD) within the unlicensed spectrum when a listen-before-talk (LBT) failure occurs and/or when a user equipment (UE) performs receiving (RX) beam sweeping. For example, a UE is configured to receive a handover command to connect to a target cell. The UE is further configured to determine a search time and an interruption time uncertainty during a handover procedure initiated by the handover command and in response to a LBT failure or the UE performing a beam sweeping operation. The UE can further determine a handover delay based on the search time and the interruption time uncertainty. In response to a time period for performing the handover procedure exceeding the handover delay, the UE can cease the handover procedure.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for port selection codebook configuration. A user equipment (UE) may decode a channel state information (CSI) report configuration (CSI-ReportConfig) from a base station. The CSI-ReportConfig indicates up to L CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) ports for selection by the UE out of P CSI-RS ports configured for measuring and reporting CSI. The UE determines selected CSI-RS ports out of the P CSI-RS ports. The selected CSI-RS ports include the L CSI-RS ports or less. The UE determines a selected subset of frequency basis and generates a frequency basis selection matrix Wf corresponding to the selected subset of frequency basis.

Abstract: Techniques to protect a subscriber identity, by encrypting a subscription permanent identifier (SUPI) to form one-time use subscription concealed identifiers (SUCIs) using a set of one-time ephemeral asymmetric keys, generated by a user equipment (UE), and network provided keys are disclosed. Encryption of the SUPI to form the SUCIs can mitigate snooping by rogue network entities, such as fake base stations. The UE is restricted from providing the unencrypted SUPI over an unauthenticated connection to a network entity. In some instances, the UE uses a trusted symmetric fallback encryption key KFB or trusted asymmetric fallback public key PKFB to verify messages from an unauthenticated network entity and/or to encrypt the SUPI to form a fallback SUCIFB for communication of messages with the unauthenticated network entity.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for performing fast beam tracking in a wireless communication environment. A UE signals to a gNB its capabilities for intra-symbol beam sweeping. Depending on configuration, the UE can either assume that the intra-symbol beam sweeping configuration will be implemented, or will await a response from the gNB before implementing intra-symbol beam sweeping. Although this is generally carried out during initial access between the UE and the gNB, the beam sweeping configuration can be dynamically updated by either the UE or the gNB during established communication. For example, the UE can signal a desired change via its MAC CE, and the gNB can signal its change to the UE via DCI.
