Abstract:
An apparatus is described for regulating the closing sequence of double doors, each of which is provided with a floor-mounted door closer. In this arrangement an actuating unit is integrated into the floor-mounted door closer associated with the trailing door and controls a valve unit in the floor-mounted door closer associated with the leading door, preferably via a Bowden cable. The Bowden cable is laid in the ground so that no parts need to be installed on the door or door frame.
Abstract:
A mechanism for automatically regulating tension of wires employed in a window regulator comprising a drum being provided for rotational movement within said housing, and having a first side surface provided with a first ratchet teeth, a second side surface provided with a first engaging portion for engaging a first wire end, and a peripheral surface as winding surface; a ratchet plate being adjacent to said drum coaxially, and having a surface provided with a second ratchet teeth engaging said first ratchet teeth and a second engaging portion engaging a second wire end; a spiral spring having one end engaged with said ratchet plate and having the other end engaged with said housing, and urging said ratchet plate in such direction that said first ratchet teeth and said second ratchet teeth are moved idly; an elastic member axially urging said drum toward said ratchet plate; and a shaft for operating said drum to rotate by means of engaging with said drum. The mechanism of the present invention can employ a spiral spring having a larger diameter, and therefore, functions of regulating tension of wires and of balancing the force for raising a window glass with the force for lowering the window glass operate smoothly.
Abstract:
A wire-driving device for a window regulator comprising a worm wheel rotatably contained in a housing, first and second pulleys arranged at both sides of the worm wheel respectively, means for transmitting torque from worm wheel to the pulleys and a worm meshing with the worm wheel and being driven by a motor, whereby first and second wires wound round the pulleys respectively are driven. The motor driven wire-driving device is thinner than conventional devices.
Abstract:
In a window lifter drive for motor vehicles a base member contains a cable drum to which a manual crank handle drive or a motor drive can be selectively secured. The base member includes a housing enclosing the cable driven with an opening on one side for a pinion on the crank handle drive. The housing has an opening on the opposite side for a driving claw part of the motor drive. Each of the pinion and the driving claw part can act directly on the cable drum.
Abstract:
A wire-driving device for a window regulator comprising a first pulley secured to a shaft supported rotatably to a casing, a second pulley secured to the shaft so as to be rotatable and axially movable along the shaft, and a wire of which both end portions are wound round said first pulley and second pulley respectively in the opposite direction to each other, the wire being capable to transmit power when the shaft is rotated, and ratchet teeth being provided on each of facing side surfaces of the pulleys, whereby elongation of the wire is automatically absorbed when the shaft is rotated to wind and unwind the wire round the pulleys.
Abstract:
A device for driving a rope-like power transmission member for a window lifting mechanism, such as in a motor vehicle, includes a casing with a worm rotatably supported within the casing, a worm gear in the casing and in engagement with the worm and an electric motor driving the worm. A rope drum is positioned within the casing and a coupling part interconnects the drum and the worm gear. The casing has an opening for moving the rope out of the casing. A sealing plate is located between the worm gear and the coupling part and divides the interior of the casing into a first partial space containing the worm and worm gear and a second partial space containing the drum and the coupling part. The sealing plate is arranged in form-locking engagement with the worm gear and it has an annular area facing toward the drum which is in contact with an annular area on the inner surface of the casing.
Abstract:
A mechanism for absorbing elongation of a wire in a power transmission device comprising two coaxial pulleys, i.e., ratchet pulley and winding pulley, winding both end portions of the wire respectively in the opposite direction; a ratchet roller connecting with the ratchet pulley by means of ratchet and engaging to the winding pulley, whereby the elongation of the wire can be absorbed by winding only one end portion of the elongated wire around either the ratchet pulley or the winding pulley.
Abstract:
An overhead garage door opener in which an actuating motor is secured to the door and is coupled to a capstan. A heavy cord, secured at one end to the garage wall above the door and at its other end near the back of the garage, is wound around the capstan. A motor control system such as a coded sound producing device and a time delay receiving circuit is disclosed, to start the motor to open or close the door.
Abstract:
An improved position control apparatus is disclosed to control a motor-driven door operator to halt movement of a door at an open position and a closed position. The position control apparatus includes a control screw means in the form of a threaded shaft extension of the motor shaft or a threaded rod coupled to the motor shaft which is rotated when the motor is energized. A travel nut is threadedly engaged with the control screw means and is constrained against rotational motion so as to reciprocate along the control screw means. Position detection means, such as switches, are disposed near the control screw means for actuation by the travel nut to control the motor as the door approaches the open position and the closed position. In another embodiment, a toggle switch is mounted on the travel nut, and the switches are replaced by stops for actuation of the toggle switch to control the motor. An improved obstruction detector apparatus is also provided to control the motor if an obstruction is encountered as the door moves between the open position and the closed position. The obstruction detector apparatus includes a safety switch which is actuable by rotation of the motor casing due to reaction torque, if an obstruction is encountered as the door moves in one direction, and a lever that is actuable by rotation of the motor casing, if an obstruction is encountered as the door moves in an opposite direction, to actuate the safety switch.
Abstract:
An automatic operator for an overhead garage door gravity-biased to a closed position includes a keeper centrally positioned on the garage above the doorway, a pivotally biased latch member secured to the top of the door and spring-biased into a locking configuration wherein it is engageable with the keeper for locking the door in its closed position, a reel mounted in the garage above the top of the door centrally thereof, a cable interconnecting the reel and the latch member, a reversible electric gear head motor coupled to the reel for rotating same in a winding direction to unlock the latch and open the door and in an unwinding direction to permit closing of the door and locking thereof by the latch member, means for actuating the motor, and motor control circuitry including a screw-type limit switch responsive to rotation of the reel for deactuating the motor after opening or closing of the door.
