    Abstract: Embodiments detailed herein can include performing an initial calibration that maps each optical character of the plurality of optical characters visible in a field-of-view of a digital camera of a wide-area parking space monitoring system with corresponding parking spaces. The digital camera of the system may capture an image facing downward toward the parking spaces. The system may identify one or more optical characters that are visible within the image. The system may determine one or more parking spaces of the plurality of parking spaces that are mapped to the identified one or more optical characters, The system may output an indication of the determined one or more parking spaces that indicates the one or more parking spaces are available.

    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments are directed an application program configured to run on a user's mobile device can allow voice-activated call pick-up to the user, without the user having to use his or her hands for picking up the call. For example, the application program can initially be trained to a user's voice command. When an incoming call is received at the mobile device, the user can pick up the call by issuing a voice command. In some embodiments, the application program can determine whether to allow voice-activated pick-up of calls based on data collected from multiple sensors associated with the vehicle, the mobile device, or a remote source.

    Abstract: Various arrangements of location-based in-vehicle restaurant menu systems are presented. In some embodiments, a location sensor that determines a global location of a vehicle is present. An in-vehicle display incorporated as part of the vehicle may be present. A location of the vehicle may be determined to correspond to a location-specific menu based on data received from the location sensor. A location-specific menu may be retrieved for the available restaurant location in response to determining the location of the vehicle. The location-specific menu may be output for presentation to the in-vehicle display, allowing a user to decide on his order before approaching an intercom system.

    Abstract: Technologies are disclosed herein for controlling a head-mountable heads-up display system comprising a heads-up display unit and a hand cover. The hand cover includes a plurality of input elements located on appendages thereof that are configured to cause the hand cover to transmit input signals to the heads-up display unit. The heads-up display unit is configured to display virtual image content within a field of view of a user. As a result of receiving a user input, the heads-up display unit may display virtual image content based on a user input. The heads-up display unit updates the virtual image content as a result of receiving an input signal corresponding to an interaction between a pair of input elements of the hand cover. The heads-up display system may be useable in connection with a system of an outdoor recreational area to obtain information regarding the outdoor recreational area.

    Abstract: Various arrangements are presented for using an electronic device for content playback. A television receiver may provide to the device access to a shared encryption key. The shared encryption key may be used to decrypt content from an over-the-top (OTT) content host system. The device may request content from the OTT content host system using the set of credentials. The device may then receive encrypted content from the OTT content host system, wherein the encrypted content corresponds to the requested content. The encrypted content received from the OTT content host system may be decrypted by the device using the shared encryption key. The device may then output for presentation the decrypted content.

The paper roll sensing device may include a housing, a wireless transceiver, and a time-of-flight sensor. The time of flight sensor may measure a distance from the time-of-flight sensor to a target region. The paper roll sensing device may include one or more processors, located within the housing that communicates with the wireless transceiver and the time-of-flight sensor. The paper roll sending device may include a fastener that permits the housing to be attached to a location within a paper roll dispenser such that the time-of-flight sensor is pointed at a paper roll, wherein the target region is a portion of the paper roll.
