Abstract:
An idler support system for use with a tubular conveyor. The system includes an idler frame that includes a generally U-shaped frame component defined by a first leg and a second leg joined by a generally semicircular portion joining the first leg and the second leg. The semicircular portion has been adapted for accepting at least one idler roller. A closeout section extens from the first leg to the second leg of the U-shaped frame, so that the edges of the tubular conveyor are held in the overlapping arrangement position by at least one idler roller attached to the semicircular portion.
Abstract:
A split load cradle for conveyor belts comprised of two pipes (1 and 2) is disclosed. The longer pipe (1) incorporates vertical arms (3, 4 and 5) having an upper ends obliquely facing each other wherein the end rolls (11) of the load cradle (10) are pivoted. Between the shorter arm (5) and the shorter arm (4) an intermediary roll (12) is also pivoted between. The second shorter pipe (2) is just like the first longer pipe (1). Both longer and shorter pipes (1 and 2) are longitudinally split in their lower part by a narrow slot (6) and fit said pipes around and axially into another pipe (7) having a lower diameter. This arrangement is attached to the structure (8) of the conveyor belt (T).
Abstract:
A laminated composite body, in particular a conveyor belt, consists of a carcass (2, 2', 2") that determines the mechanical stability of the laminated composite body, and at least one cover (1, 1') made of rubber, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and/or plastics that are highly resistant to mechanical damages such as notches, cuts, or the like. In order to improve the resistance of the laminated composite body, the cover (1) is made of at least two layers (10, 11, 12) with different properties that are interconnected so as to form a clear phase limit.

Abstract:
A conveyor unit for a high wall mining system; a mining system employing a train of such units. The conveyor units are pushed in tandem into the mine. The system contemplates a motor mounted on a cutter at the head of the train; through a series of shafts and clutches, serially through the train of conveyor units, rotation power is transferred mechanically from the motor to turn the conveyor belts of the individual units. The invention includes a preferred coupling/clutch apparatus and a launch vehicle for adding conveyor units to the train which has the ability to start the rotation of the conveyor belt on the new unit as it is added.
Abstract:
An apparatus (1) for supporting and guiding a conveyor belt (2), comprising a series of supporting assemblies (9) arranged one behind the other, each supporting assembly (9) comprising at least two juxtaposed carrying axles (10), including an angle relative to each other, at least one of the carrying axles carrying a conveyor roller (15), whilst in each case, two carrying axles are interconnected by facing ends for pivoting at least in approximately the plane defined by the carrying axles (10) to form a garland-shaped supporting assembly (9) suspended by its free ends (13) in a supporting frame (5), at least a number of the supporting assemblies within the supporting frame being interconnected by connecting rods (18).
Abstract:
A continuous conveyor belt for transporting a stream of objects to an inspection station includes a plurality of links matingly joined together to form a surface for supporting the objects for movement along a given path of travel to the inspection station, and wherein the continuous conveyor belt is entrained between a drive roller and a nose bar which has a given diametral dimension, and wherein the continuous conveyor belt propels the objects into free flight and in a given pattern through a sorting station which is disposed downstream of, and in spaced relation relative to the nose bar, and wherein the individual links when passing about the nose bar effectively minimizes the size of the object pattern passing through the sorting station, while simultaneously maintaining product separation which permits imaging of substantially the entire surface area of each product.
Abstract:
A belt for conveying articles, which belt has a body having a surface against which articles are placed to be frictionally held and thereby conveyed as the belt is advanced in operation. The belt body surface is defined by rubber and a porous filler in the rubber. The porous filler is present in the rubber in an amount of at least 5 parts by weight of porous filler per 100 parts by weight of rubber.
Abstract:
A conveyor system for transporting goods has an endless conveyor belt and o support tracks, disposed one above the other, for supporting the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt is formed with a plurality of transverse beams which are spaced apart from one another in a conveying direction of the conveyor belt. Carrying rollers are supported on the transverse beams. The support are formed with carrying cables on which the rollers are supported. The weight of the conveyor belt is transmitted onto the carrying cables.
Abstract:
A method for halting the function of a high speed packaging machine of the type having a conveyor based article infeed line conveying articles to a flight bar based selection line. The method is useful for performing a clean out procedure used during maintenance, and product or packaging change over. The method comprises the steps of terminating the operation of the infeed line conveyor at a predetermined position; placing an article follower behind a terminal article in each input lane; activating the operation of the infeed line conveyor whereby the articles in each input lane are conveyed to the selection line; and halting the conveyance of the article follower in the input lane prior to the selection line. An article follower and follower system are also disclosed.
