The pixel includes a pixel electrode, and a counter electrode arranged alternately with the pixel electrode and connected to the data wiring. The switching element includes a first electrode connected to the common wiring, and a second electrode connected to the pixel electrode.

The substrate includes: scan signal wiring lines; common signal wiring lines; video signal wiring lines intersecting these wiring lines; and pixels surrounded with the scan signal wiring lines and the video signal wiring lines. Each of pixels includes: a thin film transistor; source electrodes in a layer with the video signal wiring lines; pixel electrodes connected to the source electrodes; and common electrodes connected to the common signal wiring lines. The source electrodes include first parts overlapping the scan signal wiring lines and second parts connecting with the pixel electrodes, which are positioned around central parts between the video signal wiring lines. Molecular axes in the liquid crystal layer rotate under an electric field applied between the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes.

    摘要: A normally-black active-matrix-type liquid crystal display device comprises a first substrate having color layers of three or more colors and a second substrate on which an active-matrix array is formed. The first substrate has a structure, which is devoid of a black matrix, in which the color layers are stacked in a frame portion surrounding the display area. A first light-shielding layer in which color layers of three of more colors are stacked is formed on the frame portion on a side of the display area from which scanning lines are led out and on a side of the display area from which data lines are led out, from among four sides of the display area. A second light-shielding layer in which color layers of two colors are built up is formed on the frame portion on at least one side of the other remaining sides of the display area.
