    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining and adjusting subcarrier spacing (SCS) to be used by a base station, e.g., a CBSD, for transmitting downlink data to one or more wireless devices, e.g., UEs, are described. A subcarrier spacing (SCS) level to be used by the base station is determined based on information relating to buffering of downlink data supplied to the base station via a cable, e.g., data accumulation rate (DAR) and/or average data arrival time (ADAT). Measured cable modem (CM) to base station latency is also used in the SCS determination. The amount of time for which a determined SCS level is to be used by the base station is set based on measured latency between a CMTS and the CM.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for reducing delay while providing secure communications between nodes. An exemplary method embodiment includes a first node performing the steps of: identifying packets corresponding to a first communications session, the first communications session corresponding to a first application type; segmenting at least a first packet corresponding to the first communications session into at least a first packet portion and a second packet portion, the first packet including a first packet header and a first packet payload, the first packet portion including at least a portion of the first packet header, the second packet portion including at least a portion of the first packet payload; communicating, in encrypted form, the first packet portion from the first node to a security function node; and communicating, in unencrypted form, the second packet portion from the first node to the security function node.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for filtering lawfully intercepted encrypted traffic are described. A communications service provider network includes a mediation device and a security device. The mediation device receives a provisioned intercept request including a target IP address and one or more unique identifies corresponding to the target. The security device acquires certificates and private keys corresponding to one or more content distribution networks of interest for which intercepted traffic is to be partially or fully discarded. The mediation device receives filtering requests specifying filtering rules to be applied. Intercepted traffic is processed by the mediation device operating in conjunction with the security device to attempt decryption and identify the corresponding CDN network for the intercepted traffic. The mediation devices filters the decrypted traffic in accordance with the filtering rules, discarding traffic that is not of interest to the law enforcement agency (LEA) and sending traffic of interest to the LEA.
