Abstract:
An armrest for a motor vehicle seat includes an armrest body configured to coupled to a fixing mechanism. The armrest body includes axle pins and stop pins and the fixing mechanism includes a pivot bearing and a stop groove. The axle pins are configured to insert into the pivot bearings and pivot about an axis of rotation. The distance between the stop pins is smaller than the distance between the pivot bearings.
Abstract:
A method for generating a variable flow of melted material is disclosed. The method includes providing first and second members having a potential energy difference between them. One or more members is extended at a first average extension rate for a first period while producing an electrical arc. One or more members is extended at a second average extension rate for a second period while producing an electrical arc. One or more members is extended at a third average extension rate for a third period while producing an electrical arc. A transport medium is flowed across one or more members during one or more of the extending steps.
Abstract:
A metal oxide varistor comprising one or more zinc oxide layers is formed integral to a ceramic substrate to provide ESD protection of a semiconductor device mounted to the substrate. The portion of the ceramic substrate not forming the varistor may be aluminum oxide, aluminum nitride, silicon carbide, or boron nitride. The varistor portion may form any part of the ceramic substrate, including all of the ceramic substrate.
Abstract:
Solid freeform fabrication systems, powder supply bins for solid freeform fabrication systems, and methods of solid freeform fabrication are disclosed. One exemplary solid freeform fabrication system includes a powder supply bin, a build bin, a roller, and a print head disposed above the build bin that deposits a binder onto the powder in the build bin in a preselected pattern, the supply bin and/or the build bin translating in a x- and/or y-direction relative to the print head.
Abstract:
The specification may disclose systems and related methods for ensuring that as between two partitions in a computer system, each partition using a separate operating system, calls to basic input output system (BIOS) routines are managed in such a way that only one instance of a BIOS routine is allowed to execute within the computer system at any one time. The systems and methods may accomplish this task by implementing an abstraction program through which the various operating systems may call BIOS routines, the abstraction program implementing the desired functionality.
Abstract:
A display device for displaying an image using a first sub-frame and a second sub-frame is provided. The display device comprises an array having a first plurality of pixels and a second plurality of pixels offset from but overlapping the first plurality of pixels and a control unit. The control unit is configured to cause the array to display the first sub-frame using the first plurality of pixels, and the control unit is configured to cause the array to display the second sub-frame using the second plurality of pixels.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments relate to a system for controlling peripheral devices in a computer system. The system for controlling peripheral devices may comprise a microcontroller that provides a plurality of device interfaces, each of the device interfaces being adapted to support a peripheral device, and a communication interface that is adapted to allow communication between the communication interface and the peripheral devices, and a device that stores programming instructions to initialize the microcontroller separately from the initialization of the computer system.
Abstract:
The present invention is drawn to solid freeform fabrication systems and methods for producing three-dimensional objects. The system can include build material configured to be deposited in layers to form a three-dimensional object; and support material configured to be deposited adjacent to the build material for supporting the build material during formation of the three-dimensional object. The support material can also be configured to form a feature that imparts a predetermined property within the three-dimensional object.
Abstract:
A switch for handling call connections between calling devices and called devices. The switch comprises: 1) at least one system management node associated with a configuration management controller, the configuration management controller for performing an online upgrade of software in the switch by loading upgraded software in a new partition while original software is executed in a reference partition; and 2) a plurality of computing nodes for executing primary-backup resource server applications. Each of the primary-backup resource server applications comprises a primary resource server application and a secondary resource server application residing on a different node than the primary resource server application. A plurality of the primary-backup resource server applications form a resource group and an address of the resource group is known in the reference partition and in the new partition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a food composition having an increased shelf stability and robustness when stored in microbiologically sensitive conditions which comprises an acidifying preservative system adapted to reduce the microbial growth in the composition and a neutralizing system which is inactivated in said microbiologically sensitive conditions and is adapted to activate on demand upon reactivating conditions of the neutralizing system are met so that the neutralizing system acts on the acidifying preservative system to neutralize its sourness and/or acidity thereby improving the taste perception of the composition. The invention also relates to a dry blend usable as a preservative system in food, particularly deferred cooking food that requires storage in microbiologically sensitive conditions.
