Abstract:
A system and method are provided for obtaining medical data from a user, analyzing it and providing a feedback message. Existing home medical devices are connected to a data translation device which transmits the data to a cellular phone. The cellular phone transmits the data to a server where it is analyzed and a feedback message is transmitted back to the phone.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of compounds of formula (I) wherein the substituents are as defined in claim 1, by reaction of a compound of formula (II) wherein R3 is C1-C8alkyl or C3-C6cycloalkyl and R4 and R05 are as defined for formula (I), with a compound of formula (II) wherein R, R1, R2 and X1, are as defined for formula (I) in claim 1, in an inert solvent in the presence of a proton source.
Abstract:
A device of the present invention for applying a cryogenic composition includes a machining tool or tool holder having a channel positioned therethrough and a capillary tube positioned within the channel. A dense cryogenic fluid is passed through the capillary tube while a diluent or propellant fluid is passed through the channel. The diluent or propellant fluid flows within the channel and about the capillary tube. Upon exiting the capillary tube, the dense fluid admixes with the diluent or propellant fluid to form a cryogenic composite fluid or spray. The cryogenic composite fluid or spray is selectively directed onto a substrate for cooling or lubrication purposes, or onto the machining tool for cooling purposes.
Abstract:
OCT apparatus includes an interferometer, having an input beam splitter and a 50/50 output splitter. The splitting ratio of the input splitter may be optimized depending on the source power of light source and on the mismatch of the balanced receiver. The input splitter is a plate beam-splitter to minimize the stray reflected light in the interferometer and allow sequential operation of the apparatus in the OCT or in the confocal regime. The switching between the two regimes may be at will, or synchronous with the en-face scanning which results in quasi-simultaneous OCT/confocal imaging or in alternatives frames, confocal and OCT. By using polarization sensitive elements, two channels are provided in each regime, OCT and confocal. The two confocal polarization sensitive channels may allow adjustments of compensators prior to OCT measurements or OCT imaging.
Abstract:
The invention provides new methods for synthesis of percarbonic acid and methods of using percarbonic acid compositions for the treatment of substrates. The invention is particularly useful for cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilizing a substrate using percarbonic acid or a percarbonic acid-carbon dioxide mixture. The invention further provides an apparatus suitable for use in the substrate treatment methods provided herein. The invention also provides methods and apparatus for the real time monitoring of the treatment processes provided herein.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for testing a plastic sleeve for use with an image cylinder or a blanket cylinder in an electrophotographic process.
Abstract:
In a machine vision system utilizing computer processing of image data, an imaging module incorporates the image sensor as well as pre-processing circuitry, for example, for performing a background subtraction and/or a gradient calculation. The pre-processing circuitry may also compress the image information. The host computer receives the pre-processed image data and performs all other calculations necessary to complete the machine vision application, for example, to determine one or more wheel alignment parameters of a subject vehicle. In a disclosed example useful for wheel alignment, the module also includes illumination elements, and the module circuitry provides associated camera control. The background subtraction, gradient calculation and associated compression require simpler, less expensive circuitry than for typical image pre-processing boards. Yet, the pre-processing at the imaging module substantially reduces the processing burden on the host computer when compared to machine vision implementations using direct streaming of image data to the host computer.
Abstract:
An integrated travel channel system that allows users to create, view, modify and/or cancel certain travel bookings regardless of the travel channel used by the consumer (i.e., traveler) to initiate, modify or cancel the travel booking. In this manner, an integrated travel channel system can be provided, in an exemplary embodiment, that allows users to contact a full service travel office using any of a variety of travel channels 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional camera based system for determining the position and/or alignment of objects such as motor vehicle wheels. The system includes a strobed infrared lighting subsystem, a visible indicator that the subsystem is working properly, and targets for attachment to the objects. The system also includes at least one camera for viewing the targets, and a data processor connected to the camera for processing data relating to images of the targets to determine position and/or alignment information, and a display that displays the position and/or alignment information. The system includes directional indicators for indicating that the vehicle should be repositioned by moving it backward, forward, or steered left or right. The system also includes wheel indicators tied in with software on the data processing device. These wheel indicators indicate the state of target acquisition by the data processing device based on the image from the camera.
