Abstract:
A method and system for stabilizing dry-based density of wood chips from several sources feeding a chip processing stage upstream of a chip refining process, perform on-line estimation of a set of wood chip properties characterizing the wood chips, including light reflection-related property, moisture content and dry-based density, which are used by a reference model capable of comparing the estimated dry-based density with a predetermined target to produce error data, and selectively modifying discharge rate set points of one or more of the wood chip sources to minimize the error data within fluctuation limits around the target. The discharge rate of the wood chip sources is controlled in accordance with the set points to substantially stabilize the dry-based density of the wood chips.
Abstract:
A method for amplifying a burst optical signal, a burst optical amplifier and system, and a communications system are provided according to embodiments of the present invention. The method includes: combining an auxiliary light and a signal light into a mixed light and outputting the mixed light, where the auxiliary light is a non-burst light, the signal light is a burst light, and power of the auxiliary light is set to be independent from power of the signal light; generating a pump light; and combining the pump light with the mixed light and inputting the combined light into a gain medium, so as to obtain an amplified mixed light. Present invention has the following advantages: reducing the delay time of enabling the burst optical amplifier, improving the transient response speed of the burst optical amplifier, and preventing the generation of a surge phenomenon, so as to prevent the generation of signal distortion.

Abstract:
A stator mechanism of linear motor. The stator mechanism includes multiple magnetic members. The magnetic members are sequentially arranged along a predetermined straight line with the magnetic poles of the same polarity adjacent to each other to repel each other. Each magnetic member includes at least two magnetic bodies, which are coaxially arranged with the magnetic poles of different polarities adjacent to each other to attract each other.
Abstract:
A method for estimating surface moisture content of wood chips for use in a pulp and paper production process comprises measuring chip surface moisture using an infrared surface moisture sensor, and adjusting a calibration of the surface moisture measured with a model using values of a set of optical parameters representing light reflection characteristics of the wood chips, to estimate their surface moisture content.

A method is described for preserving the flexibility associated with relative memory addressing in programs designed to be stored in read-only memory.
Abstract:
A lamp system including a bulb assembly, a socket assembly, and a conductor base assembly is provided. The bulb assembly includes an insulation object, a first bulb pin, and a second bulb pin. The socket assembly includes an outer housing, a first conductive terminal, and a second conductive terminal. The outer housing includes an opening to install the bulb assembly. The conductor base assembly includes a conductor. The conductor base assembly is an element manufactured independently and should be placed within the socket assembly. When the bulb assembly is not installed in the socket assembly, the two ends of the conductor contact the conductive terminals, respectively. When the bulb assembly is installed in the socket assembly, the insulation object on the bottom of the bulb assembly insulates the terminals from the conductor. The conductive terminals contact the bulb pins, respectively.
Abstract:
A plug with a replaceable fuse is provided. The plug includes an outer housing, an inner core, a pair of prongs and a pair of conductive cords. The outer housing includes a fuse uninstall button opening and an inner core install opening. The inner core is installed into the outer housing through the inner core install opening, and the inner core includes a fuse socket and a fuse uninstall button. The fuse socket has an uninstall opening. When it is intended to replace the fuse, the fuse uninstall button is pressed from the fuse uninstall button opening, the fuse is ejected or pushed out of the fuse socket by one end of the fuse uninstall button extending to the uninstall opening. When the fuse uninstall button is not pressed, the fuse uninstall button restores to the original position, such that a new fuse is installed into the fuse socket.
Abstract:
Improved methods and apparatus for estimating and controlling relative proportion of wood chips originating from a plurality of sources characterized by various wood species, in a mass of wood chips to be fed to a process for producing pulp, use light reflection-related and density-related properties as input in a model characterizing a relation between such wood chip properties and species information. This principle allows efficient monitoring of the variation in wood species composition characterizing the wood chips to be processed, for the purpose of stabilizing chip feeding control and optimizing process parameters adjustment.
