Abstract:
A computer-implemented method of and a device, such as a base station for a headset, for arranging text items in a predefined order, comprising storing, in the memory of a peripheral device, a collection of multiple text items arranged in multiple sets of text items and in multiple groups of text items; storing a respective code item with a respective group of text items; and storing a sort key that has values that designate a predefined order of the text items in each set. The sort key is appended to the text items and comprises at least one character with a value within the Private Use range of the Unicode format.
Abstract:
An earpad (1) to provide an interface between an earcup (4) of a headset (7), a headphone (8) or an ear defender (9). The earpad (1) comprises a contact surface (2) contacting the skin (10) of the ear (11) or ear surroundings of the user. The earpad (1) comprises one or more metal members (3, 6, 12, 13, 33) to transfer heat away from the contact surface (2).
Abstract:
A headset system comprising a headset and a base station. Each of said headset and base station comprises a transceiver configured to transmit radio signals between said headset and said base station according to a first wireless communication protocol, and each of said headset and base station further comprises a transceiver configured to transmit radio signals between said headset and said base station according to a second wireless communication protocol. At least one of said headset and said base station further comprises selecting means, such as a protocol selector configured to select one of said first and second wireless communication protocols for transmission of radio signals between said headset and said base station. The protocol selector is adapted to select the first wireless communication protocol for transmission of voice communication and the second wireless communication protocol for transmission of media content.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus e.g. a headset or a base station for controlling channel selection in a communications system (400) using a DECT communications protocol, wherein multiple predefined channels are established using multiple carrier signals at respective carrier frequencies (F1,F2, . . . F8); comprising: transmitting (205) a first signal (S1) on multiple of the channels using automatic channel selection; transmitting a first signal and a second signal on multiple of the channels using automatic channel selection; setting a power level of carrier signals in a first group of channels to a first power level and setting a power level of carrier signals in a second group of channels to a second power level; wherein the second power level is preferably/deliberately set to a predetermined power level higher than the first power level. Wherein the first signal is transmitted in accordance with a first transmission scheme, wherein channel selection is restricted to the channels in the first group of channels, and the second signal is transmitted in accordance with the second transmission scheme, wherein channel selection is restricted to the channels in the second group of channels.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a headset and a cover component for a connection port in a housing portion of a headset, wherein the cover component is movable relative to the position of the connection port, where the cover component is arranged to at least partly enclose at least a part of the housing portion, and where the cover component is configured to be: arranged in a first position where the connection port is uncovered by the cover component, and where a cable is configured to be inserted into the connection port; and arranged in a second position where the connection port is covered by the cover component.
Abstract:
A wireless audio rendering device, such as headset (2) or speaker phone (3), which audio rendering device (2, 3) is adapted to be paired with a wireless audio gateway device, such as a smart phone (1), whereby a first radio link (4) for transmitting audio can be established between the audio gateway (1) and the first audio rendering device (2). The first audio rendering device (2) is adapted to wirelessly recognize a second audio rendering device (3) also paired with the audio gateway device (1). When brought within an activation distance (D1-D3) of the second audio rendering device (3) the first audio rendering device (2) is adapted to initiate an audio transfer step, in which the first audio link (4) is replaced by a second radio link (5) for transmitting audio between the audio gateway (1) and the second audio rendering device (3). The invention also relates to a method of audio transferring and an audio rendering device for use with the method.
Abstract:
A headset (1) comprising at least one earphone (2, 3) with at a first earphone side (39) and earphone attachment means (14) for detachably attaching an ear pad (8) with co-operating ear pad attachment means (16) to the first earphone side (39). The headset (1) further comprising a wearing device (4) for attaching the headset (1) to the head of a user, such that the first earphone side (39) faces the ear. The earphone attachment means comprise magnetic elements (14), such that an ear pad (8) with co-operating magnetic ear pad attachment means (15) can be magnetically attached to the earphone (2, 3). The invention also relates to such an ear pad (8).
Abstract:
A method of updating a headset system firmware and a headset system are provided. The headset system comprises a headset and a base unit, the base unit having a base unit control circuit and being configured to connect to a computer system, the base unit comprises a headset dock to receive the headset. The method comprises the steps of receiving, in the base unit control circuit, a headset system firmware update from the computer system, the headset system firmware update comprising a headset firmware update and/or a base unit firmware update, and updating the base unit control circuit with the base unit firmware update. In a base unit storage, storing the headset firmware update having a headset firmware update version and when a headset having a current headset firmware version is received in the headset dock, controlling the base unit control circuit to check whether the current headset firmware version is the same as the headset firmware update version stored in the base unit storage, and updating the current headset firmware with the stored headset firmware update if one or more conditions are fulfilled.
Abstract:
Presence information is provided in a personal communications system comprising an interface unit (21), the interface unit comprising a computer interface connecting the interface unit (21) to a client computer (1); and a first transceiver exchanging radio signals between interface unit (21) and a mobile telephone (22) according to a first wireless communication protocol; and/or a telephone interface connecting interface unit (21) to a desktop telephone (23). The method comprises the steps of providing a presence message indicating whether the mobile telephone (22) or the desktop telephone (23) is involved in a phone call; and transmitting the presence message to the client computer (1) via the computer interface. Thus better and more reliable presence information taking use of mobile or desktop telephones into account can easily be provided.
