Abstract: A display device includes: pixels arranged in a matrix; a plurality of write signal lines for selecting a pixel row to which a data voltage is to be written; a gate driver that supplies a gate signal; a plurality of data signal lines for writing the data voltage; a data driver that supplies the data voltage; a data selector circuit that supplies, per at least one data signal line by time division, the data voltage; and a controller. Each of the pixels includes a light-emitting element, a capacitor element, and a drive transistor that supplies a current in accordance with the voltage held by the capacitor element to the light-emitting element. The controller causes the gate driver and the data driver to perform an initialization operation on pixels in a second pixel row after a period during which a write operation is performed on pixels in a first pixel row.

Abstract: A light-emitting element includes: a light-reflective first electrode; a light-emitting layer above the first electrode; a light-transmissive second electrode above the light-emitting layer; a first light-transmissive layer on the second electrode; and a second light-transmissive layer on the first layer. First optical cavity structure is formed between surface of the first electrode facing the light-emitting layer and surface of the second electrode facing the light-emitting layer. The first optical cavity structure corresponds to, as peak wavelength, first wavelength longer than peak wavelength of light emitted from the light-emitting layer. Second optical cavity structure is formed between the surface of the first electrode facing the light-emitting layer and an interface between the first layer and the second layer. The second optical cavity structure corresponds to, as peak wavelength, second wavelength shorter than the first wavelength. The first and second layers differ in refractive index from each other by 0.3 or greater.

Abstract: A display panel in which pixels each include light-emitting parts are two-dimensionally arranged across a main surface of a substrate. The light-emitting parts each include: a first electrode that is light-reflective; a first functional layer disposed above the first electrode; a light-emitting layer disposed above the first functional layer; a second functional layer disposed above the light-emitting layer and including ytterbium; and a second electrode disposed above the second functional layer and being light-transmissive. At least one of the light-emitting layer and the first functional layer is an applied film. With respect to each pixel, at least one of the light-emitting parts differs from any other of the light-emitting parts in terms of light emission color, and the at least one light-emitting part differs from the any other of the light-emitting parts in terms of film thickness of at least one of the light-emitting layer and the first functional layer.

Abstract: An organic electroluminescence (EL) display panel having pixels arranged in a matrix of rows and columns includes: a substrate; pixel electrode layers that are made of a light-reflective material and are arranged on the substrate in the matrix; an insulating layer that is provided above the substrate and the pixel electrode layers; organic functional layers that are provided above the pixel electrode layers; and a light-transmissive counter electrode layer that is provided above the organic functional layers, wherein the insulating layer has a first opening and second openings for each of the pixel electrode layers, the first opening being elongated in a column direction, the second openings each being shorter than the first opening in the column direction and being lined up adjacent to the first opening, and the organic functional layers include light-emitting layers in which organic electroluminescence occurs in the first opening and the second openings.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescence display panel includes: forming pixel electrodes in matrix on a substrate; arranging column banks extending in column direction above the substrate along row direction, the banks each being between adjacent pixel electrodes in the row direction; applying ink containing organic light emitting material to gaps between adjacent banks, the applied ink being continuous in the column direction; reducing pressure of atmosphere including the substrate to first pressure while positioning a rectifying plate at first distance from upper surface of the substrate, the plate covering region with the ink applied on the substrate; reducing, after the reducing, the pressure to second pressure, which is lower than the first pressure, or lower while positioning the plate at second distance, which is greater than the first distance, from the surface; heating the substrate to form organic functional layer; and forming counter electrode above the functional layer.

Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a substrate, a first semiconductor auxiliary film, a semiconductor film, a gate insulating film, and a gate electrode. The first semiconductor auxiliary film is provided in a selective region on the substrate. The semiconductor film includes an oxide semiconductor material, and has a low-resistive region in contact with the first semiconductor auxiliary film and a channel region provided in a portion different from the low-resistive region. The gate insulating film covers the semiconductor film from the channel region to at least part of the low-resistive region. The gate electrode is opposed to the channel region of the semiconductor film via the gate insulating film.
