Abstract:
A multimedia optical disc for recording main video data which is composed of sets of frame data that is processed beforehand to allow compatibility with displays of a plurality of aspect ratios. The disc has a stream area storing streams made up of the main video data and a plurality of sets of sub-picture data, with each set of sub-picture data including a set of tel-op data and a set of coordinate information showing a display position of the set of tel-op data. The disc also includes a control area storing a plurality of pairings of a set of display mode information and a set of sub-picture indicating information. Each set of display mode information shows a species of display method according to which the frame data is to be processed for a case when the frame data decoded from the main video data is displayed at one of the plurality of aspect ratios. Each set of sub-picture indicating information shows a set of sub-picture data, out of the plurality of sets of sub-picture data in a same stream as the main video data, which includes a set of coordinate information which coincides with the species of display method shown by the display mode information.
Abstract:
A recording apparatus for copying a digital stream recorded on a first recording medium using a code format compatible with the first recording medium to a second recording medium after the digital stream has been converted to a code format compatible with the second recording medium, comprising: a detection unit operable to detect a plurality of devices that are available for distributed processing from devices connected to the recording apparatus via a network; an allocation unit operable to divide the digital stream at one or more predetermined points on a playback time axis and to allocate the divided portions to the detected devices respectively; a transmission unit operable to transmit the allocated portions to the respective detected devices; a control unit operable to control the detected devices to perform transcoding for converting a code format of the allocated portions to the code format compatible with the second recording device; and a writing unit operable to receive converted portions resulting from the transcoding from the detected devices and to write the received portions to the second recording medium.
Abstract:
A multimedia optical disc comprising a data area for storing at least one object that has sub-picture data and moving picture data, wherein the data area includes a plurality of small areas, each of which includes a first sub-area and a second sub-area, with the object in the data area being stored over consecutive small areas; the first sub-area stores the moving picture data having a certain time period and the sub-picture data being reproduced at the same timing as the moving picture data, the sub-picture data being a menu image which includes a plurality of buttons for showing menu items for display; and the second sub-area stores control information including button control data for responding to a user's operation applied onto a menu image reproduced in the first sub-area in the same small area and auxiliary control data for substituting the user's operation applied onto the menu.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a bitstream generation apparatus that enables an efficient editing of video objects in providing a finished audio video production. Audio and video data is encoded and an elementary encode unit correlates the audio and video data into video objects. The video objects can be assembled by an editing unit into a desired scenario of reproduction. An editor can re-arrange the scenes that are formed by the video objects with the assistance of a correction unit and an interleaving unit that can divide the pieces of audio data and the pieces of video data that form the video objects into new video objects which can be interleaved into the reproduction order of video objects without requiring a re-encoding of the entire set of video objects that constitute sequences of scenes for the audio video product.
Abstract:
A multimedia optical disc including data area and index area is provided. The data area includes objects each of which includes video data. The index area includes sub-areas. Each sub-area includes addresses of objects selected from the objects in the date area, a flag indicating a random reproduction of the objects selected, and a number of repeats of the random reproduction.

Abstract:
A supplier device 70 which supplies title data is equipped with a encryption module 74 for performing an encryption which is substitutive in nature and the user device 90 which uses the title data is equipped with a decryption module 93 for performing a decryption which corresponds to the encryption. The supplier device 70 uses this encryption module 74 to prove its own authorization and authenticate other devices. Similarly, the user device 90 uses this decryption module 93 to prove its own authorization and authenticate other devices.
Abstract:
A multimedia optical disc includes a lot of blocks each of which stores moving picture data, audio data, sub-picture data, and control information. Each piece of moving picture data, audio data, sub-picture data, and control information in the same block has the same reproduction time limit. Each piece of control information includes a mask flag indicating whether to mask a key interrupt requesting a special reproduction such as fast forward, the key interrupt being generated by the user by pressing a key on a remote controller and the like. The mask flag is effective for the key interrupt generated during the reproduction time limit stored in the control information.
Abstract:
In the process of coating a molded article of an olefinic resin, a finishing coating layer is formed on the surface of the molded article of an olefinic resin prepared by mixing a resin composition containing (E) polypropylene and (F) an ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer with (G) a modified polyolefin in which a specific group is introduced, (H) stearic acid monoglyceride or stearyl diethanolamine, and (I) an inorganic filler, with a coating material prepared by mixing the main material containing a copolymer obtained by copolymerization of (A) a chlorinated polyolefin, (B) an acrylic monomer having hydroxyl group, and (C) a polyester prepolymer as the main component thereof with (D) a multi-functional polyisocyanate compound as the curing agent in a single coating process without pretreatment of the surface of the molded article using an organic solvent containing a halogen and without coating the surface of the molded article with a primer as undercoat.
Abstract:
A given terminal of a plurality of terminals in a network system that also includes a server apparatus, the terminals respectively corresponding to characters that exist in a virtual space. The given terminal including a display unit performing, in accordance with data stored in the sever apparatus and data stored in the given terminal, a display of a scene in the virtual space in which exits a first character whose actions are determined by the given terminal and a second character whose actions are determined by another terminal Further, the given terminal including an updating unit uploading, when a user performs an operation to form a group of characters, the displayed scene, such that performance information pertaining to the other terminal is displayed in correspondence with the second character.
