Abstract:
An actuating apparatus includes a housing, an actuating unit, a receiver element, and a transmitter element. The actuating unit comprises a first end with a circular arc-shaped contour whose circular arc central axis is configured to act as a first pivot axis. The actuating unit is configured to be moved via an actuator and to undertake a translational main movement and a pivoting movement. The translational main movement is superimposed by the pivoting movement. The receiver element is fixedly arranged in the housing. The transmitter element comprises a magnetic field. The transmitter element is configured to be translationally movable, to be biased so as to bear against the first end of the actuating unit, and to cooperate with the receiver element.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, a pneumatic cylinder assembly is coupled to a mechanism that converts motion of a piston into electricity, and vice versa, during expansion or compression of a gas in the pneumatic cylinder assembly.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, energy-storage systems are based upon an open-air arrangement in which pressurized gas is expanded in small batches from a high pressure of, e.g., several hundred atmospheres to atmospheric pressure. The systems may be sized and operated at a rate that allows for near isothermal expansion and compression of the gas.
Abstract:
A system provides for remote monitoring using asynchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) communication techniques between a base station and one or more transponders. Each transponder is attached or otherwise associated with an object or an environment to be monitored. Upon receipt of an interrogation signal, a transponder generates and transmits a coded transponder signal containing the monitored data. The coded transponder signal is generated using a spreading code. Each transponder is associated with a unique, mutually exclusive set of spreading codes. Each spreading code is based on a unique transponder address and the monitored data to be sent. A detector asynchronously monitors received signals for any of the available spreading codes. Once the detector detects a particular spreading code, the base station can identify the source transponder and extract the monitored data.
Abstract:
A bottom die for a stamping tool for producing cardboard blanks consists of a composite plate made from a support foil and a top layer consisting of phenol-resin bonded paper with a textile insert. Scoring grooves are milled into the top layer of phenol-resin bonded paper to serve as a counter contour of the top die of the stamping tool. The bottom die can be removably disposed on the bottom tool plate of a stamping machine by means of an adhesive layer which is self-adhesive on both sides. According to the invention, the scoring grooves are formed through the top resin bonded paper layer of the bottom die to the level of the flexible support foil, whereby the bottom die is given a relatively large degree of flexibility. Thus, a repeated use of the bottom die sheet is possible. In addition, a method for producing a bottom die for a stamping tool, employing the above-described die, is disclosed.
Abstract:
A furnace chamber contains a chassis to which a closure plate for said chamber is removably fixed. A tilting frame is borne by said chassis in a pair of coaxial tilting bearings, one of which incorporates a rotary lead through for power lines and cooling lines to an induction coil surrounding a crucible on the tilting frame. The chassis includes a pair of rails which are movable horizontally on wheels mounted to the floor of the furnace chamber.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel heterocyclic compounds of the formula in which all of the variables are as defined in the specification, in free form or in salt form, to their preparation, to their medical use and to medicaments comprising them.
Abstract:
An RFID transponder antenna has a carrier substrate and an auxiliary substrate. The carrier substrate is provided with a contact point for a first connection to an integrated circuit, and a first conductor path including at least two coil turns. A first end of the path forms a contact terminal for a second connection to the integrated circuit. The other end forms a connection point for an electrical connection to a second conductor path. The second path on the auxiliary substrate forms a bridge over the coil turns. The second conductor path has one end connected to the contact point, and another end connected to the connection point providing a permanent connection between the auxiliary substrate and/or the first conductor path, and the carrier substrate and/or second conductor path; the permanent connection being formed at least at one point lying between both ends of the auxiliary substrate.
Abstract:
A high-voltage connector component for a high-voltage cable comprises an insulator made of a polymer material which surrounds a cable end portion of the high-voltage cable, wherein the insulator is received in a housing and is made of an elastomer material, wherein the elastomer material is filled, cast or injected into the housing in order to form the insulator. The connector component is designed such that upon connection to a corresponding connector component a basically closed pressure chamber is formed between the housing, the corresponding connector component and the cable end portion, wherein the pressure chamber is basically provided for being completely occupied by the insulator. Loading the insulator with pressure results in a gap-free, high-voltage-sealed pressing of the corresponding connector component to the insulator, a gap-free, high-voltage-sealed pressing of the insulator to the housing, and a gap-free, high-voltage-sealed pressing of the insulator to the sheath surface of the cable end portion.
Abstract:
