摘要: A wastegate opens and closes the flow path of a bypass passage that bypasses the turbine of a forced-induction device. A processor changes the drive current for the electric actuator in a stepwise manner from a state where the wastegate is stationary in a given standstill position. The amount of change in the drive current that is made until the wastegate is determined to be moved is learned as a learning value. A requested drive current for moving the wastegate to a target opening degree is corrected based on the learning value.

摘要: A turbine for an exhaust turbocharger has a dual branch turbine housing and valve arrangement for branch connection and waste gate control. The turbine for an exhaust-gas turbocharger, having a turbine housing which has two exhaust-gas volutes through which an exhaust gas mass flow can flow and between which there is provided a separating wall and having a linear valve which has a valve element and a displacement shaft. The displacement shaft is guided through the separating wall and is arranged movably in the direction of its shaft longitudinal axis in the separating wall. The displacement shaft and the valve element are separate components which are connected to one another such that a compensation of positional and dimensional tolerances between displacement shaft and valve element during operation is made possible.

摘要: A variable turbine geometry (VTG) turbocharger is disclosed. The VTG turbocharger may comprise a turbine section having a turbine wheel and plurality of guide vanes configured to regulate a flow of exhaust gases to the turbine wheel. The VTG turbocharger may further comprise an actuation pivot shaft (APS) configured to mediate actuation of opening and closing of the guide vanes, a bushing rotatably supporting the APS with a clearance therebetween, and a radial seal circumscribing the APS and inserted in a cavity of the bushing. The radial seal may form an interference fit with both an outer diameter of the APS and an inner diameter of the bushing to seal a leakage of the exhaust gases between the clearance between the APS and the bushing.

摘要: A turbocharger waste gate valve includes an elastically deformable sealing member formed by sheet metal, the sealing member being carried on one of the poppet valve member and the valve housing and being arranged to be under compression between the valve seat and the valve member end face when the poppet valve member is in the closed position so as to be elastically deformed into a compressed state, and to be released from said compression so as to return to an uncompressed state when the poppet valve member is in the open position. The sealing member in the compressed state contacts the valve seat about a full circumference thereof and contacts the valve member end face about a full circumference thereof so as to substantially seal any gap between the valve member end face and the valve seat.

摘要: A controller is provided, which detects operating conditions of an internal combustion engine on the basis of detection results from a group of sensors and drives an actuator that modifies an opening position of a wastegate valve on the basis of the operating conditions. When driving the wastegate valve to a fully closed opening, the controller initially drives the actuator toward a preset provisional fully closed position, and after determining on the basis of a detection result from a position sensor that an actual opening of the wastegate valve has reached the provisional fully closed opening, switches a target opening to the fully closed opening and drives the actuator accordingly.

In this way, a load of the cover is not conducted to an output shaft through a cover-side bearing. Therefore, in a state where the cover is fixed to the housing, an excessively large load is not generated between a cover-side bearing and the output shaft and a housing-side bearing and the output shaft.

First, an actuator holder is fastened to the compressor housing of the exhaust-gas turbocharger. Then the actuator is inserted into the actuator holder. Then the actuator is positioned within the actuator holder. Then a compensating material is introduced through an injection opening into a compensating-material receiving space which is provided in the actuator holder. Finally, the compensating material is hardened.

摘要: A system and method for controlling a temperature of an exhaust gas at an inlet of a selective catalytic reduction system during at least certain low air density conditions. The system may detect an air density value upstream of an internal combustion engine of an engine system, such as, for example, at an inlet of a compressor. Using the detected air density, one of a plurality of relationships between an engine speed and an outputted engine power, as a function of the detected air density value, may be selected for use in determining what combination of engine speed(s) and/or engine power(s) will produce an exhaust gas that is within a target exhaust gas temperature. Using the selected relationship, at least one of the engine speed and the engine power may be adjusted to at least assist in attaining the target exhaust gas temperature.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing a failure of a power stage of an electronic waste gate actuator (EWGA). According to the present invention, whether the failure of the power stage of the EWGA occurs is determined by confirming, by an engine control unit (ECU), information on the failure of the power stage transferred from an EWGA driver IC at the time of EWGA position learning, after an engine is turned off. By doing so, even when a turbo-charger is not used for a long time, whether the failure of the power stage of the EWGA occurs may be diagnosed for every driving cycle, such that a failure of the ECU may be prevented in advance and unnecessary replacement of components may be prevented, thereby decreasing maintenance costs for a vehicle.
