Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of vinyl phosphonic acid or a salt thereof for improving the biodegradability of mixed polymers, comprising 25 to 99.5% by weight of structural units of one or more monomers selected from the group made of compounds of formula (1) and formula (3), where R1 and R2 independently are hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, formula (4), where n is 3, 4, or 5, and formula (5), where X is OH or for NR3R4, and R3 and R4 independently are H or C1 to C4-alkyl, in that 0.5 to 25% by weight of vinyl phosphonic acid is polymerized into the mixed polymer.
Abstract:
A blood cell counter comprising: a detector for detecting blood cells in blood of a subject; and a controller for obtaining, based on a detection result by the detector, first analytical information about hemoglobin amount of red blood cells in the blood and second analytical information about granulocytes in the blood, and for outputting diagnosis support information for supporting determination of whether an inflammatory response of the subject is an infectious inflammatory response or a noninfectious inflammatory response, based on the first analytical information and the second analytical information that have been obtained. A method and computer program product are also disclosed.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, a pneumatic cylinder assembly is coupled to a mechanism that converts motion of a piston into electricity, and vice versa, during expansion or compression of a gas in the pneumatic cylinder assembly.
Abstract:
A server rack system comprises a server rack, a raised floor cooling system, and an exhaust system. The server rack includes a base, a front side, a rear side, and an interior portion including first, second, and third server rows. The raised floor cooling system includes a floor surface, ductwork disposed below the floor surface, a blower unit, and a vent. The exhaust system is coupled to the rear side of the server rack and includes a top portion, a bottom portion, and first, second, and third adjustable exhaust channels. In particular, the first adjustable exhaust channel has a first adjustable width, an exhaust inlet aligned with the first server row, and an exhaust outlet at the top portion of the server rack; the second adjustable exhaust channel has a second adjustable width, an exhaust inlet aligned with the second server row, and an exhaust outlet at the top portion of the server rack; and the third adjustable exhaust channel has a third adjustable width, an exhaust inlet aligned with the third server row, and an exhaust outlet at the top portion of the server rack. The first and second adjustable exhaust channels are separated by a first moveable guide plate, and the second and third adjustable exhaust channels are separated by a second moveable guide plate. The first and second moveable guide plates are adjustable in order to vary the first, second, and third adjustable widths of the respective exhaust channels based upon an amount of hot air that must be exhausted through each channel.
Abstract:
A process chamber 1 for PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) coating of a substrate includes an electrode, which is integrated in a contact frame, which is firmly connected to the recipient. A movable carrier in the process chamber carries at least one substrate. The carrier is transported by means of a driven roller positioner into the process chamber or out of the process chamber along a transport route defined by the movement. As soon as the carrier inside the recipient has reached a certain position, the lower roller positioner is uncoupled from carrier by lowering by means of a lifting device. In this regard, the carrier detaches itself from the upper roller positioner. Then, the carrier is accepted by a transfer device (not shown) and brought from the transport position laterally into a treatment position in contact with the contact frame. In this way, reliable contact is produced between the electrode and a counter-electrode provided in carrier. At the same time, other carriers, in so far as the contact frame is removed laterally far enough from the transport route, during the coating of the carrier, can be moved past this.
Abstract:
A method for reducing or completely eliminating water influx in an oil or natural gas borehole includes introducing in the borehole an aqueous solution of a copolymer comprising: A) 40–98 wt. % of structural units of formula (I), wherein: R1 is hydrogen or methyl; R2 represents C2–C10 alkylene; and Me+ represents an ammonium metal ion and an alkali metal ion; B) 0.1 to 58 wt. % of structural units of formula (II); C) 0.1 to 10 wt. % of structural units of formula (III), wherein: R3 and R4 independently of each other represent hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, or R3 and R4 represent together a propylene group, which, with inclusion of a radical (A), form a pyrrolidon radical or, with inclusion of a pentamethylene group, forms a caprolactam radical; D) 0.10 to 10 wt % of structural units of formula (IV). The method also includes introducing in the ground or deposit, simultaneously with the copolymer or subsequently, an agent for crosslinking the copolymer.
Abstract:
A start-up clutch including a disk clutch having an outer disk carrier and an inner disk carrier with a multi-disk clutch pack disposed therebetween. The multi-disk clutch pack is adapted to engage and provide torque translation between the inner and the outer carriers. A piston is adapted to be actuated by fluid pressure to cause the multi-disk clutch pack to engage. A first cavity is adapted to be selectively supplied with pressurized fluid to actuate the piston. A second cavity is adapted to be selectively supplied with pressurized fluid to provide cooling to the multi-disk clutch pack. A first fluid passage adapted to provide pressurized fluid to the first cavity, and a second fluid passage is adapted to provide pressurized fluid to the second fluid passage.
