Abstract:
A method for customizing web-enabled data in ticker format comprises loading a ticker profile associated with a client. Web-enabled data is retrieved from a data provider in response to receiving a request from the client. The retrieved data is transformed into ticker format based on the loaded ticker profile and communicated to the client.
Abstract:
A method for generating HTML based on common XSLT includes retrieving XML data from a data provider in response to a request from a client, the XML data comprising at least one dataset associated with at least one SVG tag or at least one table tag. The retrieved data is dynamically transformed using a common XSLT file. One HTML page is automatically generated for each dataset included in the retrieved data at least partially based on the transformation, each HTML page comprising at least one table or one SVG chart.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating an induction motor rotor lamination includes using an indexed notching die to punch a plurality of closed rotor slots at different distances from a center point of rotation by punching a first rotor slot, changing the position of a center point of the rotor lamination with respect to the notching die, and punching a second rotor slot. In another embodiment, a plurality of rotor slit patterns are punched using a variable depth indexed notching die including at least two rotor slit punching portions, one being deeper than another, by punching a first rotor slit pattern, changing the depth of closure of the notching die, and punching a second rotor slit pattern with the second rotor slit pattern having a different number of rotor slits than the first. In another embodiment, each rotor slit is open to and off center with respect to its respective rotor slot, and rotor laminations are stacked by positioning some of the rotor laminations in an orientation with is turned over and rotated with respect to others of the rotor laminations; filling the rotor slots and the rotor slits with cage material; and machining outer surfaces of the rotor laminations. In another embodiment, uniformly spaced identical rotor slots are punched and modulation is created by punching a contoured outside diameter or by inserting slot wedges of molded magnetic material.
Abstract:
Methods and systems consistent with the present invention perform enhanced services for wireline and wireless subscribers in an integrated wireline and wireless switching system. The enhanced services may include, for example, group dialing plans, message waiting indicator activation, call forwarding, simultaneous ringing, call conferencing, calling line identification, automatic call back, automatic recall, speed dialing services, and/or any other services that may be provided by a switching system to wireless and/or wireline subscribers. When a calling wireline and/or wireless subscriber requests one or more of the enhanced services, the integrated wireline and wireless switching system determines the line types associated with the wireline and/or wireless devices of a called subscriber, and identifies references to one or more shared procedures for performing the enhanced services according to the determined line types without creating direct dependencies between wireline and wireless modules in the integrated wireline and wireless switching system. Finally, the integrated wireline and wireless switching system executes the identified procedures to perform the shared services.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for implementing a body contact in a silicon-on-insulator field effect transistor device. A SOI field effect transistor is provided having a body contact having a predefined resistance that provides a higher device threshold voltage in the SOI FET device. A body of the SOI field effect transistor is connected to the gate of the SOI field effect transistor. The body gate connection of the SOI field effect transistor effectively lowers the device threshold voltage due to body bias effect. The SOI field effect transistor with a body connected to the gate of the SOI field effect transistor is used in circuits having stacked devices and DC currents. The SOI field effect transistor with a body connected to the gate of the SOI field effect transistor also is used in analog circuits with device matching requirements and in circuits having a low voltage power supply.

A microturbine power generating system includes a reservoir that is pressurized with compressor air during system operation. The pressurized air in the reservoir is used to purge combustor fuel nozzles of residue after combustion in the combustor has ceased.
Abstract:
Power reception circuits employable in portable data devices (e.g., smart cards) to derive power and/or data from an input AC power signal (e.g., an ASK modulated carrier signal). In one embodiment, the power reception circuit comprises a power rectifier (120), a shunt rectifier (142) and a shunting element (132). The power rectifier (120) is adapted to rectify the input power signal, yielding a rectified output waveform. The shunt rectifier (142) is connected in parallel with the power rectifier (120). The shunting element (132) is connected to the shunt rectifier (142) and is operable to regulate an output voltage or current waveform produced at the output of the power rectifier (120). In another embodiment, the power reception circuit includes an analog circuit (610) for recovering data from a modulated carrier signal. A decoupling device (630) isolates the analog circuit (610) from impedance variations of a load. A shunt device (640) diverts undesired current from the load.

A method for evaluating the API gravity of a sample of underground formation includes steps of: Solvating a known volume of an underground formation sample in a known volume of a solvent which will solvate hydrocarbons; Quantitatively measuring with a changeable filter portable fluorometer the emission fluorescence of the solvated sample at a fixed excitation wavelength with measurements of emission intensities at two points; characterizing the oil by the ratio of two emission intensities obtained at a fixed excitation wavelength; determining the yield; applying regression analysis to a data base of oils to obtain an equation which results in an algorithm value; and interpreting the value of the algorithm to give a value for API gravity and estimate in-situ oil concentration.
