    Abstract: The present application describes a process for the continuous production of alpha-calcium sulphate hemihydrate, the process comprising the steps of: providing particulate gypsum; providing water; mixing the particulate gypsum and the water to form a gypsum slurry; and maintaining said gypsum slurry under raised pressure and temperature to convert the particulate gypsum into alpha-calcium sulphate hemihydrate and provide an alpha-calcium sulphate hemihydrate slurry. Additionally, the particulate gypsum comprises a D10 value greater than or equal to 2 μm, a D90 value smaller than or equal to 90 μm and a D50 value smaller than or equal to 25 μm. Particulate gypsum for use in the process is also provided.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to methods of analysing and manufacturing gypsum panels, for example, suitable for use as building surface products. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a method of forming a gypsum panel. The method includes forming a porous slurry layer on a receiving surface using a plurality of operating parameters, and allowing the porous slurry layer to set to form a gypsum core of a gypsum panel. The panel is then cut to form a cut surface that extends through the gypsum core, and an image of a region of the cut surface is captured. The image is analysed to identify bubbles intersecting the cut surface. A measure of bubble contact in the gypsum core is then calculated from the identified bubbles in the image. Based on the measure of bubble contact, an operating parameter used for forming the porous slurry layer is modified.

    Abstract: A device for cutting a plate or panel of porous construction material includes a movement structure that moves the plate or panel and includes at least one conveyor, and which is able to move in a direction (X). The device also includes a wire to cut the plate or panel and a structure for passing the wire in a direction (Y) perpendicular to the direction (X) of travel of the plate or panel. The device for cutting allows a cut to be made that greatly limits the waste and dust generated.
