Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to methods for characterizing unexpanded perlite, e.g., with respect to its expandability as well as articles containing expandable perlite, such as gypsum materials, fire-resistant building boards and other fire-resistant materials, and methods for making the same. The present inventors have determined thermogravimetric methods for characterizing unexpanded perlite with high predictive power for the selection of highly-expandable perlites. The disclosure also relates to materials including unexpanded perlites that meet certain threshold values with respect to these characterization methods.

Abstract: The modular facade is made of prefab panels comprising a frame structure with horizontal and vertical profiles. The prefab panel includes an outer cladding attached to the frame structure by attaching means. The horizontal and the vertical profiles have a matching shiplap design. A method of mounting the modular facade relies upon the steps of installing brackets to a building structure, for levelling position of the prefab panels, and an anti-tipping element in an upper part of the building structure, so that not very demanding lifting means, such as a small crane, suffices, for suspending subsequent adjacent prefab panels from an upper story.

Additionally, the particulate gypsum comprises a D10 value greater than or equal to 2 μm, a D90 value smaller than or equal to 90 μm and a D50 value smaller than or equal to 25 μm. Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to methods of analysing and manufacturing gypsum panels, for example, suitable for use as building surface products. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a method of forming a gypsum panel. The method includes forming a porous slurry layer on a receiving surface using a plurality of operating parameters, and allowing the porous slurry layer to set to form a gypsum core of a gypsum panel. The panel is then cut to form a cut surface that extends through the gypsum core, and an image of a region of the cut surface is captured. The image is analysed to identify bubbles intersecting the cut surface. A measure of bubble contact in the gypsum core is then calculated from the identified bubbles in the image. Based on the measure of bubble contact, an operating parameter used for forming the porous slurry layer is modified.
