摘要： An automotive display system includes a frontward information acquisition unit, a position detection unit and an image projection unit. The frontward information acquisition unit acquires frontward information. The frontward information includes information relating to a frontward path of a vehicle. The position detection unit detects a position of one eye of an image viewer riding in the vehicle. The image projection unit generates a first virtual image at a corresponding position in scenery of the frontward path based on the frontward information acquired by the frontward information acquisition unit and projects a light flux including an image including the generated first virtual image toward the one eye of the image viewer based on the detected position of the one eye. The first virtual image has a size corresponding to at least one of a vehicle width and a vehicle height.

摘要： An image display unit has a display region with a higher resolution than a number of pixels of an image. A base information storage unit stores viewing position information of a viewer and size information of the display region. A wide-angle transformation unit calculates a central area including a viewing center of the viewer of the display region using the viewing position information and the size information, divides the image into a first pixel area corresponding to the central area and a second pixel area corresponding to a peripheral area other than the central area, and transforms the first pixel area and the second pixel area by magnifying. A magnification ratio of the first pixel area is less than a magnification ratio of the second pixel area. The image display unit displays an image including the transformed first pixel area and the transformed second pixel area.

摘要： A novel display device suitable as a portable display device is disclosed. The device includes a pair of substrates and a light modulation layer sandwiched between the substrates. A functional gel is adapted to be deformed by an electric field applied between a pair of electrodes interposed between the substrates, thereby regulating the light incident on the light modulation layer. A high contrast, a high reflectance and a high light utilization are achieved without regard to the angle of visibility.

摘要： A first alignment film includes a plurality of first regions and second regions. A second alignment film includes a plurality of third regions and fourth regions. The third region corresponds to the first region and the fourth region corresponds to the second region. Alignment directions of the first region, the second region, the third region, and the fourth region are different. By applying a voltage, a transmittance ratio of the first region and the second region is above 5 in an angle range above 30° and below 40° from a normal direction, and a transmittance of the first alignment film from the normal direction is above 90% of the transmittance in case of non-applying the voltage.
