摘要: This invention is for the protection and surface treatment of aluminum, aluminum alloys and coated aluminum substrates against corrosion. The aluminum substrates are treated with an acidic aqueous solution containing small but effective amounts of at least one trivalent chromium salt such as a trivalent chromium sulfate, at least one alkali metal hexafluorazirconate such as potassium hexafluorozirconate in combination with small but effective amounts of at least one water soluble or dispersible thickening agent such as a cellulose compound and at least one water soluble surfactant. The corrosion resistant aluminum substrates of this invention have improved adhesion for overlaying coatings e.g. paints and a lower electrical resistance contact.

摘要: A composite antenna comprising a first and second antenna suitable for transceiving independent signals in the cellular communication and GPS bands. The first antenna has upper and lower electrically conductive discs of substantially the same size aligned substantially in parallel, a first means for application of a first electrical signal between and at substantially geometric centers of the discs, and a plurality of electrically conductive shunts. The second (GPS) antenna is attached atop the upper electrically conductive disc and has a second means for application of a second electrical signal to the GPS antenna which traverses the electrically conductive discs whereby there is no significant degradation in performance of either the first cellular antenna or the second GPS antenna. The shunts are electrically connected to the first electrically conductive disc and the second electrically conductive disc, whereby the first and second electrically conductive discs are spaced from each other by a volume of free space or a volume occupied by a dielectric material. Also described is an antenna for cellular communications alone, with first and second electrically conductive discs spaced from each other by a volume of free space or a volume occupied by a dielectric material, without the second GPS antenna.

摘要: A mass-production technique for fabricating individual indicia-bearing display sign plaques (10) employs fabricating sheets of large plaque stock (36) as a laminate of a stiffening substrate (12) and an indicia-bearing front sheet (22) adheringly affixed thereto, the indicia (24) on the front sheet bearing the indicia of the desired plaque replicated thereon preferably as a large rectangular array of elements having common boundaries subsequently to be severed along severance lines (38). For wall-mounting of finished plaques adhesive tape strip stock (40) is affixed to lie generally centered on the common boundaries of the array elements, as well as around the periphery of the laminate stock. An edge-registered stack (41) of laminates 41 is then cut along the severing lines by repeated passes of a guillotine-type blade 42. The material forming the substrate and all layers emplaced thereon is chosen to yield clean shearing under such a blade, with the result that the individual plaques 10 when separated have clean sharp edge faces with the peripheral adhesive tape precisely edge-registered thereto. Hot-forming of finished plaques allows them to be configured into self-supporting structures.

摘要: A wall mountable frame comprises a rectangular pan-shaped frame including a main rectangular vertical rear wall having forwardly extending magnet-attracting marginal walls defining with said main wall a rectangular sign or poster receiving recess. Screw head-receiving holes are provided in said main vertical wall for receiving the heads of wall mounting anchoring screws which will be fully recessed in said holes, the defining walls of said holes being formed by rearwardly projection portions of said main vertical wall. Magnet bars are insertable along the inner margins of the marginal walls of the frame to hold the margins of sheet material upon said rear wall. Spacers are preferably in the form of double adhesive coated synthetic plastic foam strips are positioned behind said frame to extend along the margins of the rear wall of the frame. The strips space the hole-forming projecting portions of the rear wall from the mounting wall surface of the frame. The strips have a peelable outer layer to cover the outer adhesive layer thereof. The strips are compressed by the tightening of the screws when screws are the frame anchoring means, and can be used as the sole anchoring means of the frame when the peelable outer layer is removed therefrom.

摘要: A system and method for delivering a flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The system monitors a characteristic that varies based on variations of the flow of the breathing gas and determines a Target Flow for the gas to be delivered to the patient based on the monitored characteristic. The Target Flow is set to a level sufficient to treat Cheyne-Stokes respiration or a sleep disordered breathing event. The system also alters the Target Flow based on a determination that the patient is experiencing a sleep disordered breathing event. In a further embodiment, the system determines an apnea detection time (Tapnea) as Tinsp plus a constant, and delivers a machine triggered breath if an amount since the start of inspiration reaches Tapnea. Yet another embodiment, monitors the characteristic during an inspiratory phase of a respiratory cycle, and controls the flow of gas during the inspiratory phase of the respiratory cycle based on a result of this comparison.
