    Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods and devices for a user equipment device (UE) to perform band measurements and provide a pruned measurement report to a base station. A first connection is established between the UE and a base station, and a configuration message is received from the base station. The configuration message identifies a plurality of bands for which the UE is to provide measurement reporting. The UE determines whether a band combination of the plurality of bands has an aggregate bandwidth that is greater than the aggregate bandwidth of the first connection and whether a signal quality metric of the determined band combination is greater than a predetermined threshold. Responsive to these determinations, the UE performs band measurements on the bands of the band combination and transmits a pruned measurement report to the base station.

A wireless device may determine whether to deprioritize obtaining cellular service using a radio access technology. The wireless device may establish a wireless link with a cellular base station.     Abstract: A UE in an RRC inactive state may determine an operational state mismatch between an actual RRC operational state for the UE and a stored RRC operational state for the UE maintained at a network node. To determine the mismatch, while the UE is in the RRC inactive state, the UE may monitor at least one of paging messages, serving cell power levels, or neighbor cell power levels. When an operational state mismatch is detected, the UE may initiate a state correction procedure rather than an RRC resume procedure.

    Abstract: Re-connecting to a first radio access network (RAN) of a first radio access technology (RAT) may include initially connecting to the first RAN. A connection associated with a voice call may then be connected that includes connecting to a RAN of a second RAT. In response to the voice call connecting to the second RAN, information for both a frequency and a cell associated with connecting to the first RAN may be stored. An end to the voice call may be identified. In response to determining that the voice call has ended, a timer may be generated at the UE that comprises a specified time period and the timer and the information stored for both the frequency and the cell associated with connecting to the first RAN may be utilized to re-connect to the first RAN.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first authentication request in response to a first triggering request from the UE to a mobility management node of a first Tracking Area (TA) in which the UE is located. In some embodiments, the UE may prepare and store an authentication response according to the first authentication request. In response to determining that the UE has moved from the first TA to a second TA, the UE may abort a sending of the authentication response, and may send the stored authentication response according to the first authentication request to the mobility management node of the second TA in response to the receipt of the second authentication request and in further response to a determination that a given parameter of each of the first and second authentication requests are the same.
