Abstract: A system for treating a body lumen including a first stent configured to be positioned in a body lumen and a second stent configured to be positioned in the lumen of the first stent prior to removing the first stent from the body lumen. The first stent includes a liner disposed radially inward of the tubular scaffold of the first stent to permit tissue ingrowth within a tissue ingrowth region defined between the liner and the tubular scaffold. The retrieval stent is configured to be expanded within the previously implanted first stent to cause tissue to recede from the tissue ingrowth region to facilitate removal of the first stent from the body lumen.

Abstract: A gastrointestinal assembly may be deployed within a patient's gastrointestinal tract in order to facilitate drainage of an abscess. The gastrointestinal assembly may include an outer stent and an inner stent disposed within the outer stent. The inner stent divides a volume within the outer stent into a primary passageway through which nutritional contents may pass and a secondary passageway protected from nutritional contents and configured to accommodate a passive drainage system for draining the abscess.

Abstract: An example medical device is disclosed as an expandable stent. The stent includes a tubular scaffold having an inner surface, an outer surface, and a lumen extending therein. The expandable stent also includes a liner disposed within the lumen of the tubular scaffold. Further, the liner is radially spaced from a medial region of the tubular scaffold to define a tissue ingrowth region along an uncovered portion of the medial region. Additionally, the liner extending along the tissue ingrowth region is configured to limit the amount of tissue ingrowth along the medial region of the scaffold.

Abstract: An assembly for use in endoscopic stent delivery, including a stent delivery device and an associated stent loaded therein. The stent delivery device includes an outer tubular member, an inner member slidably disposed within the lumen of the outer tubular member, and a distal tip disposed at the distal end of the inner member. A self-expanding stent is positioned within the outer tubular member in a compressed configuration, with one or more retaining loops extending from the body of the stent and engaged with a retaining structure, such as a notch, provided by the distal tip. Upon deployment of the stent from the stent delivery device, proximal withdrawal of the distal tip through the lumen of the stent disengages the one or more retaining loops from the retaining structure.

Abstract: An implantable treatment device configured to facilitate removal thereof after tissue ingrowth into a portion thereof, such as into an enlarged region with a diameter greater than adjacent regions. A liner is positioned within a lumen of the treatment device, with a portion spaced from the enlarged region of the treatment device. A disruption zone in the liner facilitates controlled disruption of the liner's integrity to permit a portion of a removal device inserted within the liner to extend through the liner to interact with the treatment device. The treatment device may be part of a treatment system including a removal device with an enlarged region corresponding to the treatment device enlarged region. A method of treatment involves rupturing a rupture zone in a treatment device liner to allow a portion of a removal device to extend through the liner and into engagement with a portion of the treatment device.
