Abstract: The present application relates to a positive electrode and a Li-ion battery including the positive electrode, the positive electrode comprises a positive electrode current collector and a first active material layer including a first positive electrode active material arranged on the positive electrode current collector, a buffer layer including a carbon material and a binder, and a second active material layer including a second positive electrode active material, the buffer layer is arranged between the first active material layer and the second active material layer. The positive electrode provided by the present application, when applied to the lithium battery, not only can improve the safety performance of the Li-ion battery, but also improve the cycle performance of the Li-ion battery.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a positive electrode plate and an electrochemical device. The positive electrode plate comprises a current collector, a positive active material layer and a safety coating disposed between the current collector and the positive active material layer, wherein the safety coating comprises a polymer matrix, a conductive material and an inorganic filler, wherein the polymer matrix comprises at least two types of polymer materials, and the first type of polymer material is fluorinated polyolefin and/or chlorinated polyolefin, and the solubility of the second type of polymer material in oil solvent is smaller than the solubility of the first type of polymer material; and the weight percentage of the first type of polymer material relative to the total weight of the polymer matrix, the conductive material and the inorganic filler is 17.5% or more. The positive electrode plate improves high temperature safety of electrochemical device.

A first size L1 of the body portion in a length direction thereof is greater than a second size L2 of the body portion in a width direction thereof. The first tab is located on at least one end of the body portion in the width direction. The first tab has a third size L3 in the length direction. The first size L1, the second size L2, and the third size L3 satisfy 0.5L2≤L3≤L1. The battery cell according to an embodiment of this application is intended to resolve a technical problem of severe heat generation by a tab.
