摘要: A method for manufacturing a supercapacitor, including, integrally forming a cell body having a bottom portion, a wall portion, and a top opening, as a single unitary member, with the bottom portion having a bottom fluid passage; inserting through the top opening an electrode assembly that has a negative and positive electrodes separated by a separator; fixing the electrode assembly to the bottom portion in an electrically conductive manner; closing the top opening with a lid assembly forming a cell interior containing the electrode assembly in a dry state, and fixing the lid assembly to the cell body; orienting the cell body with the bottom fluid passage facing downward in a vertical direction; injecting an electrolyte through the bottom fluid passage to wet the electrode assembly with the electrolyte; and closing the bottom fluid passage with a plug member and fixing the plug member to the bottom portion.

摘要: An energy bank includes a plurality of integrated energy storage devices including a plurality of supercapacitors, a plurality of batteries and a plurality of metal shells. Each of the integrated energy storage devices includes a supercapacitor, a battery surrounding the supercapacitor and a metal shell surrounding the battery. The battery forms a shell around an exterior surface of the supercapacitor. The battery includes a first anode, a first cathode, and an electrolyte disposed between the first anode and the first cathode. The supercapacitor includes a second anode, a second cathode, and a separator disposed between the second anode and the second cathode.

摘要: A device for depassivation of an energy storage device having an anode, a cathode and a core with an electrolyte, the device including: a first switch configured to provide a positive input voltage to the anode; a second switch configured to provide a negative input voltage to the anode; and a controller configured to: detect that a first predetermined event related to a buildup of passivation has occurred with regard to the energy storage device; switch between a positive input voltage and a negative input voltage provided to the anode at a frequency sufficient to depassivate the anode; discontinue the switching when a second predetermined event related to passivation has occurred.

摘要: A pressure valve to be arranged in a seal member sealing a casing in which a capacitor element is housed, the pressure valve having a base end positioned within the case and a tip positioned outside the case. The pressure valve includes a tapered portion having a tapered shape. At the top portion of the tapered portion, there is formed a slit able to undergo a state change between a close-state and an open-state by elastic deformation. When the casing internal pressure is less than a certain value, the slit maintains the close-state. When the casing internal pressure has reached the certain value, the slit undergoes a state change to the open-state, whereby the inside and outside of the case communicate with each other and the internal pressure is released from within the case.

摘要: A wiring module to be attached to a unit battery group in which a plurality of unit batteries, each having a positive and a negative electrode terminal, are arranged side by side, the wiring module including: a bus bar that overlaps the electrode terminals and electrically connects adjacent electrode terminals; a temperature detection member having a plate-shaped detection portion that overlaps the bus bar, and detects the temperature of the bus bar; an insulating protector holding the bus bar and the temperature detection member; and a cover covering at least a portion of the insulating protector. The detection portion overlaps a region of the bus bar other than a region of the bus bar that overlaps the electrode terminals, and a pressing rib that presses the detection portion toward the bus bar in a state where the cover is covering the insulating protector is provided on the cover.

摘要: A membrane is provided that includes a membrane substrate defining a plurality of pores to allow ion transport therethrough; an ion-doped conductive polymer disposed on a surface of the membrane substrate; and a conductive material disposed between the membrane substrate and the ion-doped conductive polymer. The membrane may have an areal density from about 0.01 Coulombs per cm2 (C/cm2) to about 100 C/cm2. Such membranes provide for controlled bidirectional ion transport therethrough and may be used in electrochemical cells that includes such membranes as part of (or the entirety of) the separator. Such separators may be used to control charge transfer through the electrochemical cell and/or reversibly stop charge transfer therethrough to prevent thermal runaway.
