摘要: A holographic read only memory card which can be coupled to and read by a card reader to which electronic read only memory cards can also be coupled to and read by the card reader is disclosed. The holographic read only memory card comprises: a housing having a compartment for receiving a holographic storage medium; a holographic storage medium having stored thereon holographic data; and optionally a an electronics panel member having an electronic memory component which can be read by the card reader when the holographic read only memory card is coupled to the electronic card reader. The housing comprises one or more card locating members to thereby repeatedly position the holographic read only memory card each time the holographic read only memory card is coupled to the electronic card reader so that the holographic data can be read.

摘要: A hook 14 causes an attachment device (cartridge), which is mounted into an insertion slot arranged in an electronic apparatus such as a game apparatus, to be engaged with the insertion slot. The hook includes an arm 22, a ring portion 21 and a latch portion 23. The ring portion 21 is connected to one end of the arm 22. The latch portion 23 is connected to the other end of the arm 22, and is latchable onto a predetermined portion of the insertion slot. Further, the ring portion 21 is pivoted by a spindle 31 of the attachment device, and is shaped so as to be deformable when a force from the arm 22 is applied thereto, the force being caused by the attachment device moving so as to be ejected from the insertion slot.

摘要: An apparatus for determining whether polygons which form objects defined by graphic data generated by CAD intersect with virtually generated light rays. Polygons which are not intersected are removed from the graphic data as unnecessary for the generation of CG data. An apparatus is also described in which path passage points which pass through an animation path within a virtual world are interactively set. If an object exists that interferes with a path that joins adjacent path passage points, an alternate route path which detours around the interfering object is generated. An apparatus is also described in which a path of a moving object is interactively set on a perspective view of the virtual world as viewed from one direction. The position of the set path in the virtual world is calculated, and the position of the path in the direction of viewing is corrected to a position that is removed from an object by a prescribed distance.

摘要: The value of a reference feature vector calculated from a feature vector of an input pattern is transformed into a candidate category set, by a mapping described in a candidate table. Then, pattern recognition is performed using the candidate category set. By suitably setting the mapping, a high-speed process is performed while maintaining a recognition accuracy.

摘要: A feature extracting unit extracts an input feature vector from an input character pattern. A learning unit computes orthonormal bases of a partial eigenspace of an original feature space from learning feature vectors of a plurality of learning character patterns, and stores the computation results in an orthonormal base storage unit for the partial eigenspace. The learning unit computes each of the dictionary selection feature vectors prescribed in the partial eigenspace corresponding to each of the object character patterns, and stores the computation results in a recognition dictionary unit. A feature selection unit computes an input selection feature vector obtained by projecting an input selection feature vector extracted by the feature extracting unit on the partial eigenspace using the above described orthonormal bases. A collating unit estimates a type of the input character pattern by collating the above described input selection feature vector with each of the dictionary selection feature vectors.

摘要: An apparatus recognizes road traffic lines and a car running ahead without regard to obstacles and noise signals. A video image recording unit on a car provides an image of the road ahead. Horizontal edges in the image are detected for determining the presence of a car ahead. Successive lateral sweeps in both directions from a center line that advance at predetermined sampling intervals from a proximal portion of the image toward a distal portion of the image provide data by which horizontal edges are determined for comparison against predetermined standards. A base line on the road for the car ahead is determined as the most proximal horizontal edge. Lines marking road lanes are detected by similar two directional search lines from a center line. Lane lines are identified in right and left proximal portions of the image and extrapolated to the distal portion of the image. Missing portions of lines are interpolated. In determining the presence of marked road lanes, vertical edge detection provides basic data for establishing the thickness and distance between probable lines for comparison against predetermined standards. Comparison of successive road images determines relative motion between the vehicle bearing the apparatus and detected images and aids in updating the image and eliminating noise signals.
